In terms of mule, I believe the first verification cars will be next year, but the first units testing in S550 body mules should be this year right? As I mentioned in another thread a month back or so you’ll see the mule camo out in about 2021. Final preparations are being conducted for the upcoming summer.
I cannot get into specifics as to month but you got the jist I think ;)In terms of mule, I believe the first verification cars will be next year, but the first units testing in S550 body mules should be this year right?
Sorta...It’ll be more different than what occurred between (for example) the 2010 GT s197 and the 2013 GT s197. Those two were pretty similar hence the same code name. You’re getting more goodies across the board in terms of power, comfort, and options on a varied platform.isn't s650 still a reworked S550 at the end of day?
Both S197 and S550 still use D2C, unfortunately so will S650. At least I think that this is corrrect. So basically 1994 Mustang all over again? Warranting a new model code is significant, as the 1999 model and 2010 model years never warranted that. They retained the SN-95 and S197 codes.isn't s650 still a reworked S550 at the end of day?
The 2010 Mustang was really a belated '09 model I found out and took a really long time to launch, as they developed it really early on (knew what it looked like in 2005). Yet, same model code. What is the S550 really in that respect? 1993 vs 1994 Mustang? Or is that the S550 vs S650 pretty much?Sorta...It’ll be more different than what occurred between (for example) the 2010 GT s197 and the 2013 GT s197. the SN-95 was called as such. The S stood for small specialty unit. The N, North America operates. And the 95 was from fords sequence numbering system on their lineup of approved ready to launch programs. On a side note, I've always wondered if "95" in SN-95 referred to Ford thinking the car could be delayed and not arrive until later in 1994 as a '95 model, designated it as such in 1989/90, but ended up arriving earlier than planned circa Xmas 1993 as a '94 model (GT sold from January 1994)? Possibly.
I see, just a coincidence then that '95 was close to the model year? PN-96 for the F-Series released in 1996, made me curious about that. Both of them (SN-95 & PN-96) were started in 1989, so it makes a lotta sense.the SN-95 was called as such. The S stood for small specialty unit. The N, North America operates. People seem to confuse program code and platform all the time. Both S197 and S550 still use D2C, unfortunately so will S650.
