I think the interior has a modern day 80s vibe. Squarish and lots of sharp lines. I'm thinking s550 meets modern 80s. Somewhat fox body but the interior actually has more of a 80s Camaro vibe.

Either way, I love the 80s and square / sharp lines so I think I will like it a lot. The center stack also strongly reminds me of the new interior in the 2022 Sierras.

I can still vividly recall when many hardcore mustang fans said the exterior/interior of the s550 wasn't a mustang, and how ford ruined it. Now, the exterior of the s550 is often viewed as the most beautiful, or one of the most beautiful mustang designs ever, and everyone is talking about how ford made the interior so much better. Our brains reject change, but most things grow on us.
Every car from every manufacturer, everytime it's updated.

There is always thos "ohhh they ruined it and now it looks like xxxx, so glad I bought my xx model year instead".

I like it, clearly the design inside and out is going to be more angles than curves but doesn't look half-baked to me. Details like the shape of the tweeters, controls on the wiper & directional stalks... even the display message boxes have a similar shape.

I have a real hangup over brake-by-wire (C8). But thankfully that set of engineers is not the same as the A/V team.
Yikes! I didn't realize the C8 was brake-by-wire! Imagine how the Tesla situation would have gone, with the blue screen and death lock-up of all controls including the brakes too! There's no upside to losing brakes, in any situation.

As much as the C8 offers super-car performance and a mid-engine, it's a no-go for me without a manual transmission. But any car with either brake- or -steer-by-wire is a hard pass.

You do realize these systems have fallback methods, that in case of an failure the brake will bypass the electric stuff and leaves with you a clasisc brake system.

Of course. But it’s another layer of complexity and also having to rely on the switch over to the back-up system I don’t like.

With mechanical (and most other) systems, simplicity usually = reliability.

If the Ford folks are on here - stop already with the "Stealth", "White Ice" and BS trim packages already. Put together a TRUE stripper/base 5.0 Mustang. Keep only the essentials to pass the Govt. safety and emissions regulations. There's more folks than you think who would buy such a performance car and many others who don't even use half the available Tech or doodads. Give the true Mustang Enthusiast and Track Enthusiast an option for a solid, light weight performer, at a good price point, without all the happy nanny froo-froo horseshit. You did it halfway with the 2012-13 Boss Laguna Seca's, so why not do it again? Why can the Bronco be built "your way" from the driveline components to nearly any piece on the "menu", but the Mustang has to always be tied together by option packages? Oh, can't get or delete this component unless it comes with Option Package XYZ and a required wheel combo... but Bronco buyers can piece together a Bronco and build it as if it's from a busted up Lego set.
THIS.

Shhhhh. Let them go. The less they know the better. :cwl::crackup::like:
GM Orders Stop Sale on C8 Corvette Over Brake-by-Wire Sensor Issue

That was back in 2020. So it's not exactly a 'benign' design change. What is the failure mode when a fiddly-ass sensor goes on the fritz? Will a driver recognize the condition and adapt in time?

this is yet again engineers playing "god" and lying to the driver as to what is actually going on with the brake system - ie. it's boiling. But here too it's by guess and by golly since GM was too damn cheap to use an ACTUAL temperature sensor in the logic tree.

I stand corrected. This would have really sucked if I owned one. I certainly agree simpler is better.

Sort of a Combination of the first two.

First Photo on the Right Side and Mustang Photo on the Left Side

S650 Mustang S650 Mustang INTERIOR First Look Spyshots! + More Exterior Shots 1650473745068

The Cluster (minus Left Side Bezel) and Air Vents show that in the Mustang Photo the Panel is Wider than the Console. In the SUV Photo the Air Vents are even with the Right Side. The Mustang Panel Extends Beyond the Narrower Vents, but appears to be the same Overall Length As the SUV Panel.
Also, the Reflections of the Wheel and Wiper Levers in the Panel do not Appear to be very Distorted, which leads me to believe the Joggle is Mostly just Going Around the Steering Wheel Shaft Console, Rather than Canting Towards the Driver. Would Simplify Construction, Although a Canted Overlay at the Joggle could Cover the Two Separate Panels.
