They've already said several times that doesn't work as turning it off puts a light on the switch. No light no turning off.

Although he can try using the defrost button as a deactivation button, to see if the system respects the operating parameters.

one important thing to note is that the switch is identical, if not the same whether or not the button is blank. Ford uses this "6 row of buttons" thing for the Mustang, Explorer, Escape, Bronco Sport, Maverick, and Transit, and they're all likely similar or the same inside, with some minor packaging differences.

press the button to disable auto start stop anyways and see if a message pops up on the dash. if not, look in the Custom Mode menu to see if you are able to set a custom mode with auto start stop disabled. if neither of these works, take it to your dealer. at that point, you've gotten a misbuilt vehicle and i am sure Ford would also be very interested in how that happened. as long as its less than 3 years old and has less than 36,000 miles, it has the bumper-to-bumper warranty

As @roket said and I said previously, the car is not built correctly... if your dealer isn't helping, try another, or call Ford directly... THEY NEED TO FIX IT!

A few things I've noted on my system that might help you reduce it engaging are it doesn't operate in cold weather, not sure exactly where the cutoff is but I feel like below -10°C (14°F) it will stop engaging, presumably to keep the engine and interior up to temperature and prevent running down the battery.

Above that temperature it is less likely to engage if the car is under heavy load that requires the engine to be running, A/C on (even if the heat is turned up A/C should still run with the switch turned on for dehumidifying the air), heated/cooled seats on, front vents on defrost, especially with A/C on, rear defroster on. Some combination of those settings might be enough to keep the car from shutting off as much until the dealer can source and install the proper switch.

Pretty sure it isn't possible on 2026 cars

Again, wait until the dealer responds or chase up as the car is under warranty

It cannot be switched off with forscan AFAIK... find another dealer or contact ford directly.

Update my dealer finally installed the right hotkey switch panel that now includes the ass toggle switch.
