Supraman speaks the truth... and I might add that in 2-3 years, most of the posters on this forum will no longer have the cars anyway. A combination of not liking it, 2-3 year leases, and the quest for the next bright shiny object will see them "sold on" as the guy from Wheeler Dealers says. I've seen it on other forums with other cars over the years.
I bought Hein's kit because I DO keep my cars, I got out of a '14 GT for this one, and at my age, I'll probably not have another car. I'm just thankful that he made the kit, its a bargain at twice the price.
We can piss and moan all day long about Ford (and I usually lead the pack!) but they are made this way for a reason and its not going to change. Leave it, duct tape it or Hein it and move on.

I'm not saying anyone should skip the mod. In fact, I have ordered the kit myself. My point was that owners that don't belong to this forum are not likely to know the problem exists. 2024 Mustang sales are about 40,000 units, and this forum has about 1,600 members the best I can tell.

If you want to cover the hole, cover the hole. If you don't, then don't. Who cares? Too many people complaining just to complain. Gheesh.

Does anyone know if shipping costs extra if it's going to Canada? Last time I had to order a part out of the states it went from a $40 transfer case switch to over $250 after shipping, taxes, duty, and conversion rate. All because Dodge decided to use a normally closed transfer case indicator switch that was discontinued instead of normally open like 99% of all other t-case switches that cost $10 locally.

$94 US with the same logic therefore, scares me. I would like to fix this hole but I would also like to be able to eat this month...

Never mind. I just went to the site to see if it would show me a little on the breakdown for shipping and tax cost. Dude doesn't even ship outside the US. If he actually CARED about the enthusiast scene he would also release just the 3D print file for a modest price so true DIYers could protect their cars on a budget.

It's quite clear he is only interested in fleecing people on $10 worth of plastic and adhesive if he won't even give the option for other countries to order it. I'm going to start thinking of a way for people in the rest of the world to do this patch on a budget with hardware store parts so we no longer have need for this idiotic kit.

Check out the repair another member did himself. Simple and effective 👌. https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/threads/front-inner-wheel-well-issues.158833/post-3300242

If people don't want to buy the kit then they should take the initiative to come up with their own solution to the problem. Many have done this. There is plenty of information on the forumn. People should give the guy making the kit a break as there was plenty of time invested for design and equipment.

I highly recommend this modification. I did this a few weeks ago with about 3000 driven miles and wish I had known about this sooner. I'm including photos of the rocks and road rash on the pinch weld after just 3000 miles. I never drive my mustang in the rain. You can see how the paint has worn away with just rocks, imagine if this car was driven in rain, or worse, snow and road salt.

@Ciulster ..... not so fast on the draw. Geez buddy did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed. FYI Hein had to get the blueprints from Ford re-configure them to have his CAD accept them, run multiple attempts, determine the best composite and materials to attach them to the felt surfaces, stock and ship them and include the JB weld and the foam inserts for 100 bucks. He is doing this as a favor to us. My son has a CAD/Router/ 3D Printer fabrication company and he said Hein is a saint for doing this when he has a complicated business to run. I have spoken with Hein - he is a class act So, IMO you don't know $hit about this situation. BTW -there IS or last week there was a link to ship to Canada and the cost was more than reasonable. Get some sleep grumpy!

@Tomasfish ..... right on brother. You have hit it 100%. I installed these six months ago after a 400 mile drive from the dealer. I had to touch-up the damage before I installed the kit. I was pi$$ed! If someone doesn't want to spend 100 bucks and 30 minutes on a fix to prevent the magnitude of damage these holes can create is well .... as my grandfather used to say you can't fix stupid. I have posted pics and references to Tony Unica's video and Hein at DIYvan.com on numerous forums. If someone doesn't notice these holes and wonder about them....well, I guess you can't help stupid either.
