More proof the DH SC was to be called the "BOSS?"

We've seen the dash cluster from the Detroit Auto Show car photos. Ford finally updated the catalog to include DH SC hardware and I spotted this...

I think they shot themselves in the foot with DH SC. From what I gathered by talking with other enthusiasts it sounds like tons of people really don't get that the DH SC is something completely different than the DH and a GT500 successor. Boss or something like "Dark Boss" would have been way more catchy so people get what this vehicle is

The price is the biggest issue to me. Simply not worth it. If it had an AWD hybrid setup like the E-Ray, GSX, or ZR1X, it'd be worth it.

Its horrible branding. The name is stupid and confusing. But Chris errr Jim Farley is obsessed with shitting on tradition and naming everything Dark Horse blah blah. And for the record Dark Horse Boss would have been equally stupid. They should have just called it the Boss or Boss SC.

Molds are done and they pumped out enough preproduction cars to show you won't see "Boss" on the air cleaner lid. Oh well. We were that close, regardless of Farley's lies.

This has nothing to do with being "woke." I hate when people say crap like that just because they don't like someone else's decision. Frankly it's just lazy considering there are many other ways to say you don't like the name choice that are more actuate.

They did this because someone in their Marketing Dept has it in their head that they want to make the name "Dark Horse" the new top name brand which doesn't differentiate the model enough, in my opinion, from the "standard" Dark Horse. Boss would have been a great choice, or as @AZ_Ryan said, Boss SC, which I do like. It's basically a miss by someone trying to make a name for themselves inside Ford.

OK, I'm the outlier, don't like Boss or Mach. Bosses were quite unpleasant when I was an apprentice, being the very bottom of the mechanic totem pole.
I do like SC because I know it means supercharged

The Mach 1 came back because the Bullitt name license was up in 2020, so they called them the Mach 1, and for some reason Ford's marketing people could not sell that iconic name to the public so they created a new set of badges and limited the use of the DH name to a couple of option packages
