I work out.

My gym has no showers.

After cardio, I am drenched with sweat.

I have to drive home.

In the summer, my car has a dirty dishrag smell to it when I first get in, which I am sure is a result of this sweaty nastiness when I get in the car. It goes away after a few minutes, but ugh.

I had forgotten about it, because it is not there in the winter (even though I get in the car sweaty). It is like a smell that occurs in the car when it is sitting in the 90 degree weather.

Any ideas on how I can protect the seat from this smell?

I have some basic ideas, like bringing a second shirt and changing. Maybe that would help, but I am not sure, and I can't be the only person on the forum who exercises vigorously and has to drive afterward.

On a whim, I mentioned it to the older guy who is usually on the cardio machine next to me and is drenched in sweat. He laughed and said his truck has that smell, and his wife is always commenting about it.

You could try what I do, just take your wife's car when you are going to work out instead of the Mustang.

If that's not an option, I would say try remote starting it with the ventilated seats blasted on high a few minutes before you get in. That should help mitigate the smell and also dry you off quickly when you get in.

Home gym. You don't have to drive anywhere smelling like crap and you don't have to deal with people, either.

I take a change of shirt.
Also, it may be you AC that needs a clean, or at least a cabin filter change could help. The filter is easy and cheap- youtube. I think to use an AC cleaner, you will need to get under the car and locate the drain tube. I Have never done it on a S650
Good luck

Drape a towel over the seat. If really ocd then color match it.
Beat me to it! Excellent affordable (and washable) solution! +1

Ask your wife to drop you at the gym and take a cab or bus home when you're done. Or maybe get an electric bike or a Harley for travel.
