Thanks for the reply. It sounds like the Armour Detail Pilot is something I should look into. Also saw that Muguiar's Quik Interior Detailer was getting some love too. Do you or anyone else have an opinion on 303 Interior product line?If you want something for light maintenance that you can do a quick detail with and still have a matte look, a rinsesless wash like ONR, DIY, or McKees will do the trick as well. You will have to dilute the mixture yourself but it will last you a good while.
One product doesn’t always do it all when cleaning interiors but DFB5.0 and Skye made great recommendations for what to use. Armour Detail Supply has a great line of products and the Pilot interior cleaner is my favorite at the moment.
I’ve used 303s interior cleaner in the past and it’s a good product that’ll give you the matte appearance you want. However, it’s dated compared to the competition and there are better products out there that not only clean but provide UV protection and repel dust. The only 303 I still use is the Clear Vinyl but that’s for boat vinyl. Thanks for the reply. It sounds like the Armour Detail Pilot is something I should look into. I use Sonax Upholstery and Alcantara for my steering wheel and gently scrub it with a leather brush and wipe with a microfiber towel.I have a dark horse, what’s the best thing to use one the suede parts of the seats and doors?
An interior cleaner will suit you just fine. If you end up needing something stronger for a stain or the like, then grab a bottle of Xpress.Thank you for the detailed and very educational reply. I have a base Mustang GT here in the US w/301A PKG so it just has the cloth interior although the side bolsters are vinyl I believe, hence I do not have leather interior. My question regarding what cleaners to use is in reference to cleaning all the black plastic interior bits (the dashboard, doors, etc - basically a lot of black matte plastic on the base interior). That being said, should I still be looking into an interior cleaner followed by an interior detailer or would an interior detailer do the trick? I see you mentioned that the Meguiar's Interior Detailer Cleaner is a good product as well. My interior stays pretty clean so I really want to just spray something on a microfiber towel and wipe the surface and be done with it - and not have to worry about the product leaving a shiny, oily residue.
As mentioned, you want Sonax Upholstery and Alcantara Cleaner.I have a dark horse, what’s the best thing to use one the suede parts of the seats and doors?
I have no trouble with cleaning windows on the current daily, but this one line got me thinking about what is around the corner, when the new toy arrives!Glass - so many glass cleaners to chose from, Gyeon Q2M Glass Cleaner, Stoner Invisible Glass or P&S True Vue are my picks. All safe for tint. Considering the steep angle of the rear windscreen, you definitely need the Reach and Clean Tool.
When I was chasing more Tarminator a couple of weeks ago, from what I was told, the local importer of Stoner products has been hard/unreliable to get stock from, hence why so many places are out. AutoBuff currently have it in stock, Tarminator as well (I use that for occasional HD tire cleaning).I have no trouble with cleaning windows on the current daily, but this one line got me thinking about what is around the corner, when the new toy arrives!
A minor detour heading home from the airport this morning, and I have one from Supercheap!
Majority of their stores are out of stock, hence taking advantage of being on the other side of town.
I'm wondering if these are discontinued, and it irks me to think I paid $30 when Repco were clearing these out at $10.
Other places out of stock as well.
The word has gotten out!
Quick follow up question if you'd be so kind: You mention if I need something stronger to grab a bottle of Xpress. So would you say Xpress is too strong to use for a quick clean after each wash as opposed to the Armour Pilot stuff you mentioned? An interior cleaner will suit you just fine. The Meg's is available everywhere, it can smell a bit weird though. Carpro InnerQD is super nice, a strong lemon scent, and Armour Detail Supply Pilot works in a similar manner and has a lovely cologne-like scent. Are three can be used as a spray and wipe type product, I favor spraying into a towel and wiping.
Not necessarily too strong, just not needed. As the traditional detailing saying goes, "always choose the least aggressive method first".Quick follow up question if you'd be so kind: You mention if I need something stronger to grab a bottle of Xpress. I went ahead and ordered up a bottle of Pilot as it seems like the best all around choice for me. I really appreciate all the great information and insight you (and others) have provided to me not just on this thread but with all the questions I've asked here about Mustangs. This online Mustang community has been fantastic. While I'm giving thanks I'd also like to give a shout out to @roadpilot who's been a great help with all things Mustang tooNot necessarily too strong, just not needed. Having said that, you can dilute Xpress to knock it back a level. However, I think the interior detailers like Pilot or InnerQD are better suited for your needs as they flash away better and leave a streak free finish, especially on glossy surfaces or screens.
