Which is why Ford is being smart by developing a mustang sedan, and yes, we're hearing from multiple sources that sedan is moving forward and will be s650 based. I know some staunch traditionalists don't like the idea, my take on the matter is as long as the coupe sticks around, I have no issue with its platform being shared with a mustang sedan.

Having more vehicles share the same platform is going to significantly increase sales volume and revenue, which will in turn encourage additional investment in bettering that platform, which benefits those of us who love the coupe. Plus we get an awesome V8 powered performance sedan on top of that.
But what platform will the sedan use? D2C doesn't have a flexible wheelbase does it? DEW98 did which the D2C was derived from. Would the sedan be a modified CD4?

The war was over long ago (hint - the EV won)
Don’t tell them that. They think the United States controls the globe.
🤔. So we won a war against Japan, so we're all now Japanese?
OK, you’re really stretching now. EV’s padding of the CAFE standards is what is allowing our high performance cars to exist. That’s a fact, not conjecture. Ford actually said as much with the Mach-E.

They could do it but it would be a heavy girl.

Giving up? If you only knew a few things I've seen. But I won't go into that.
Panasonic announced a new battery factory in the US. They wouldn’t be doing that unless there was an expectation of increased sales in the future.

By the way, no one is asking you to go out and buy an EV, nor even like them. That said the mileage of the EV and hybrids are helping all manufacturers continue to build and sell ICE vehicles.

Here's what someone outside of the US thought. We do think diffrently for many reasons.
I had a choice of Nissan Z, Supra at a stretch, or Mustang. Plus some quick hatches etc. It was a no brainer, V8 against 6's or 4's, an Icon against blah, and , not least, value for money.
Sure it's thirsty, but I don't commute, it's a fun toy and I'm lucky enough to afford the fuel bill.
EV's are dying, only those who can write off depreciation gainst tax, or are completly fooled planet savers are considering them.
I saw one stat that said those in the US who are likely to buy, or are considering buying an EV has dropped in a year from 25% to 16%. Same story nearly everywhere that's dropped EV subsidies.
There is also growing resistance to EC mandates from car makers, from the increasing number of centre right and right wing Governments, and general populations.
I say the Mustang will live on.

As long as the U.S. wants ICE engines, there will still be ICE. The electric Charger failed and will soon have a V8. EV sales are down in the U.S. also. Will drop wayyyy further as well because the EV credit is disappearing. The U.S. is nothing like Europe.

Do you understand that this is not a good thing for performance car enthusiasts? If auto makers cannot make the required CAFE numbers the low mileage cars will be the first to go. That means high horsepower V8’s. That is unless you are OK with a I4 or V6 Mustang.

Ah yes, ICE selling more is bad for ICE lol Things are different now.
