Like always, when searching for something, I stumbled on something else.

I compared my Canadian Mustang to a US Mustang and I found a difference in the DRL settings in the APIM module.

Daytime Running Lamps Control Function (DRLCF)
7D0-09-01xxxxx*xxxx--
Canada (9) = DRLCF Disabled
US (B) = DRLCF Enabled

This means, you can theoretically have a setting in your Sync 4 screen where you can enable or disable the DRL.
On the US this function is enabled and on the Canadian, it's disabled.

Edit:
US and GCC have this enabled from the factory.
Canada and EU has this disabled from the factory.

Just tested it out. Option is showing up on the screen, but it didn't seem to turn the DRL's on or off.
I tested it while the engine was not running.

I didn't feel like starting the car just to see if it will be different with the engine running.

But feel free to test it out and there might be another line that should be enabled to get it to work, or this option is not made for the Mustang.

I tested this feature out today, it works but I don't like it.
I was driving behind a car where I could see my own reflection and turned the DRL off with this control button on the screen and it turned off but I could not get it to turn on again.
I guess this feature is not really made for the Mustang.

Under what conditions did you test this out?

- Engine on or off
- DRL switch or Automatic Switch or Low Beam Switch

Maybe there is another address you need to change to make it work with the one you specified

Yes, we have a lot of lighting differences. Changing region is the issue maybe.

US models have this option visible from factory, and it works fine. i bet there is some stray value that wasnt changed preventing it from working right

I have the selection to turn off the DRLs in my menu from the factory (US car). I have always left it on, so I don't even know what it does. Maybe turning it off will give me the amber DRLs! 🤣

Okay, I compared Canada, US, EU and GCC.

Canada and EU has it turned off on IPMA
US and GCC has it turned on in IPMA.

So it's a regional thing.

The other thing that I said previously about having this function turned off in IPC was just a confusion of my self. All vehciles from all regions have this function turned off in IPC.
The IPC line is not the line to make this function visible on the center screen. The IPMA line is the one that makes it visible and that's why GCC and US have this function visible on their screen while my Canadian one doesn't have this function visible.

Now it's time to look further why my Canadian car does not get this function to work properly after changing this line. Like I said previously, this has something to do in BCM and/or HCM and/or LDCMA/B since every region has their own laws about lighting. Changing the behaviour of the lights could be linked with regional settings.

What I do know for sure is that European cars have a law that you can't even turn off the DRL, even when your light switch is positioned to the OFF button. My Canadian Mustang doesn't have this Sync4 option to turn the DRL off but I can turn it off by changing the light switch to Off.
I really want to hear a European Mustang owner if he can or can't turn off his DRL when he has the light switch turned off.
