Which is perfectly fine until that "what's necessary to fix it" costs you more than what it would have cost to have an ASE certified technician install it.

I've been wrenching since the early 1980s. I'm sure I could install this myself. However, I have a good friend who is an ASE certified technician. I'd pay him (likely less than the $2K) to install it (or help), and keep my warranties intact.
You've got a good friend and a fine opportunity. Nice! For me, though, with no ASE certified friends, and given that the number of boosted car problems I've had throughout my life is zero, I find the risk vs reward acceptable.

Just don’t forget to detail the little tricks discovered along the way. Especially the ones that go, when releasing this clip do it this way, and the i know what the directions say but there simply ain’t no way you gotta stand on your head while twisting counter clockwise, type of stuff. The unboxing and step by step is nice but the tips and tricks are what make it worth following.

Make more friends! LOL. J/K.

Hey, nobody is judging. The question was asked about the benefits of paying to have it installed, so I was providing them. Nobody is saying people can't do it all on their own.

For the stage 1 kits that offer warranty, Ford Performance or Whipple would assume, within limits, part of the 3 year 36k mile powertrain warranty. It's a great benefit if you want to go that route but of course it costs you that labor up front for the peace of mind that it would bring you. I just get greater peace of mind knowing I did it right rather than gambling on someone else, and if I do it wrong, well then it's an opportunity to learn why and a chance to do what's necessary to fix it.
the "warranty" only covers $7500 for the engine and $2500 for the transmission

Thanks! Those are the limits I implied but was too lazy to lookup myself :D

I have seen that you could print the Whipple Supercharger manual and have a good thorough reading and imaging what you’ll be going through to take on the Whipple Supercharger! On my old Cobra 2003, I was able to install it myself but a racing mechanic offer to tune it for me! Went up to 561 horsepower on that motor which was awesome! That’s the same motor on the far left top corner! Now that I have DH and will be going through the WSC (Whipple Super Charger) manual myself soon! Might be a wise move to do so! Good luck and wish you the best!

My Ford Performance branded Whipple kit will be delivered tomorrow provided no courier delays . I intend to do my own install this weekend. I figured I'd start a thread where the self-installers on here can share their advice, tips, and lessons learned from doing their installs . Please, no posts why you think it's a bad idea or to lecture us for giving up our warranties. This is for the DIYers and we all have our own reasons for doing it ourselves.

I'll add my own experience post install. Does anyone that has already done theirs want to share? Cheers!
How did you get the FP version? Its not available yet on their website.

Do you have a cite for that? My understanding is that the FRPP/Whipple kit is manufacturer warranty friendly.
