Unfortunate truth.
thats probaly only good for local deliveries, the issue isnt a lack of trucks to run large volume, the issue is lack of drivers to operate said trucks which means long lead times for contracts as less drivers need to run more loads, running smaller loads only exaggerates the problems because instead of having 100 trucks run 50 routes, youre having 100 trucks run 50 routes 10 times while also having to account for the fact that those same drivers are probably also getting contracts from other companies in the industry and even more companies outside of it. simmilar to what happened with the microchip issue, it wasnt so much a supply thing as it was a "you canceled and are now at the back of the line" thing.If this is the case, then that would be a reason to start shipping small volumes asap so the staff comes back quickly and ship another load

The vehicles are likely good, and parked there for a minor defect or compliance concern which hints towards a combination of A & B. DTOWN mentions awaiting certification in his message for OKTB which is distinctly known across the industry as compliance testing for self-certification. NHTSA has been found recently to have poor performance when it comes to timing, auditing and finding issues https://www.reuters.com/business/au...al-timelines-defect-probes-report-2023-06-02/ pure speculation of course, but all in all there's probably a heightened sense of urgency to get this right on both ends.
And that's from the dealership. Now we know about the whole picture. Most our cars are done and ready to go. We're just waiting for Ford's "Ok to buy" decision. So all this talk about shipping and "cars on the way" to Canada or to some USA states is not accurate. And all this "estimated arrival" thing in July is not accurate too. Maybe these estimates are based on Ford's estimated "ok to buy" decision, but it's definitely subject to change.
.This is exactly the kind of BS that i'm concerned about. I had no plans on getting my car before August/September, but now that it's built I don't want it sitting outside for months.Question. So, I live 15 minutes away from Flat Rock for now. Tonight, we have a tornado and flood watch, and we've been getting a hail's warning lately. God forbid, but if it happens and a tornado smashes its way through our outside parked cars, or some thick hails dented our cars, or a flood pushed our cars back inside the plants, do we go back to 3/27 order processing, or Ford would have a plan B for that
I have that same delivery window. I'm in NC. That means they'd have to start shipping this week or early next which I am hesitant to believe. I guess we'll see!
If they're indeed waiting on certification then OKTB will come soon. They wouldn't be parking and prepping the vehicles this way if that weren't the case. It doesn't matter what the production numbers are..... they'll begin releasing them from the plant the moment they achieve that with NHTSA since these are sellable. On one hand it's just a car, on the other it's always been my dream to custom order a Mustang. This is once in a life time thing for me. I would really like it if it's not dented, scratched, flooded, rusted, etc before I ever get to see it.
I cant imagine there is a plan B. They appear to barely have enough parts/capacity to build cars as it is. I guess next year would be another try
