AZ_Ryan with all the rain we have in the last week I'm sure your good. Mine looked the same even after doing the flood test proceedure. My windshield was replaced and was sealed better than Ford would have done. If I ever decide to do it I will insist on talking to the technician doing the job. Also no wash as I don't want anyone touching the paint.

Has anyone else noticed on the Ford App that the wording on the recall now is only:

"Inspection for water intrusion into the body control module"?

The wording now only says: Description, Safety risk, and Remedy with no descriptions under these headings.

It sounds to me like the recall is only an "inspection" now. I wonder what's going on. I haven't had it done yet so I'll ask my dealer.

The app used to go into much more detail. Has yours changed too?

If they only inspect I wouldn’t mind bringing it in. Don’t want them to break my windshield if nothing needs to be done.

Finally gave in and had my GT done along with the Oil/Filter change and it’s only an Inspection being done now I take it. If there is any indication of damage visually then it goes to the next level. Glad to get that over with and my Service Advisor said that they haven’t had too many that showed signs of water damage … FWIW.

Dealers do not put their top mechanics on this work.

This is more than likely TRUE. I feel like if it‘s just an ”Inspection”, then even a Service Advisor or a “Non-Mechanic” can view the area and visually look (inspect) for what appears to be any water intrusion or indications of corrosion. If it‘s noticed, then they‘d hand it off to a Service Technician. My guess anyway but I hope that they do give this more attention than that cause if someone is wrong, it will lead to Major issues for the vehicle owner and that Dealership.

  • Certification Requirement: Technicians must be certified in the STST Competency 10 FSA for the claim to be paid and accepted.
This was an original requirement for dealer to get paid. They might still give it off to a knuckle dragger for initial inspection.

How's things shaping up for the 26's? I'm assuming they drafted procedures for the guys on the line to avoid a continuation of the issue?

Yes, once a defect such as this is found, procedures are changed to prevent it in the future. Though in actuality the percentage with actual defect is small, but they need to check them all.
