Here is good module reference info for those starting with FORscan on 2024 Mustang.
I noticed the both headlight modules have the Private CAN asterisk next to them. Does that mean I will need FDRS Software to access them? Or can I edit via Forscan

They make several different models... did you get the proper ones? If they are new, they may require programming of LCDM's (module on light fixture). FDRS software would likely be required or a trip to dealer.
This is looking like what I will need to do… I attempted to load the As built data from my VIN into them and they still seem to not be functioning. Any advice on how to find the correct headlights for my GT Premium? According to the dealer these should be the right ones but I have no way to cross reference… thank you in advance!

Hi,
you should be able to get to it without FDRs, but the lights have more stuff involved besides the BCM-C module. See attached block diagram.

For example if you toggle the flash to pass on steering column the SCCM module send request to BCM to execute the flash to pass. If you request Auto Highbeams the IPMA module send a request to SCCM to execute that. The headlamp switch is handled by the LIN bus, but BCM checks the switch for any faults. If the BCM gets the request to turn the headlamps "ON" it will supply voltage to the LDCM, but at the same time if it detects excessive current drawn the BCM FET protection circuit will disable the driver. Most of the wires come from BCM over the connectors C2280B and C. See schematics cuts attached.

BTW- it gets more interesting when the Automatic High beams are used at night as the camera in your mirror gets into the action and the GWM module gets involved ove the FD-CAN3 bus. My guess is that all the LEDs in the lamps are under PWM current control and that requires monitoring to make sure no LEds fail in the headlamp assembly. Looking into this in more detail I start wishing for old fashion 1964 mustang light switch and bulbs. ;-)

Yes, I know we now reside in the hight tech world so we have to enjoy all this engineering features and I am sure tons of time and money did go into design of this lighting system.

I would hope the dealer looked it up correctly... there are 6 different lighting "levels"... level 1 thru level 6. You can check the part numbers on fords parts website... see what "level" your originals were and the new ones. I believe if the same level, they should work. As for the modules... I have not done any module replacement on the Mustang, but on other cars, programming has always been required. Since most of these modules are used in various different cars, they don't come programmed, you have to do that so it will match your car.

Alright I hit a road block, i need your guys help, so i got the steering wheel switches plugged in.
The right switch : volume up and down, voice function, skip previous and next, and the ok button work, the up and down do not
The Left switch... nothing works lol
The help i need is can anyone post what settings you have for the Sccm for left and right switch, I also have as built data from a base ecoboost but not sure what exact lines will affect this issue I have
609.webp

Nevermind I believe I found it being line 724-02-01 because I compared base to one with ACC and that line was the only one different with xxxx-xxxx-xxXX from base being a EC and the one with ACC was a AC, also same line but different spot being xxXX-xxxx-xxxx base being 74 and ACC being 34, I'm not referencing the ACC to being that, that is for ACC, I'm referencing that it is from a Premium with ACC steering controls however Since the other switches are the same it is sage to assume it is for ACC, I changed my as built data and still no change so I have to dig into the harness again and verify connections

Looks like many of these modules are made at Ford Mexico and all it takes is one component inside not meeting specification and the module get tossed in the garbage. BTW-I just noticed this recall on Mach-EV ( on Ford Authority web side)and wonder how different these modules are from S650 that has them likely integrated in the headlight assembly. I know people bitch about Ford recalls, but given the boatload of parts in each vehicle any of these not meeting specs can cause a recall.

So I just my Forscan set up. Since my Stang is Roush charged it will not communicate with it immediately and is requesting I enter the H/W PCM number. How do I do that. Can use an H/W number that I found online. The PCM seems to be hidden underneath the fuse box and I can’t see the HW number.
and guide lance or support would be greatly appreciated!!

You need the PCM strategy file name. You can probably use the tuner to get it, but if you're unsure how to do it, message me the VIN and I'll get it for you.

Question. I have a DH, and the animated welcome lights stopped working 2 weeks or so after getting the car (the lights simply lit on without the animated sequence). The reason being (I think) is the battery being very low when I got it (11.9v). I did recharge the battery but the welcome lights never worked again.

Enter forscan. So I finally changed the following settings (posting here in case it helps someone) to re-enable the welcome light animation:

Enable Sequence for Front lights:
LDCMA From:
6F6-05-05 0700 0000 000D
6F6-05-06 0007
To:
6F6-05-05 0700 0000 020D
6F6-05-06 0907

And
LDCMB From:
6F7-05-05 0700 0000 020E
6F7-05-06 0007
To:
6F7-05-05 0700 0000 000E
6F7-05-06 0008

Enable Sequence for Rear lights:
BCM From:
726-87-01 0000 0000 00B5
To:
726-87-01 0000 0000 01B5

While I was at it, I disabled ANC/etc:
BCM From:
727-01-01 3033 14FG 10AD
To:
727-01-01 3033 11FG 00AD

My question is: I believe I can change the animated welcome sequence sequence to an extended time and I believe (and that's why I am posting) that I need to change the "9" or "0x07" in "6F6-05-06 0907" from 9 to a lower number.

Has anyone done this?

I assume the Gear display hack in forscan only works in Sport mode or am I wrong? I did it to my DH and all I see it in is sport.

After changing it shows in all modes. Perhaps you did not write it in the memory after you enabled it. I suggest you check it in Forscan to ensure that it is enabled.
Well that's disappointing, i only see it in sport mode.

Sir, would you be willing to attach a pic of your dash in normal mode so I can verify exactly what i should be seeing?
