Very unlikely that can be done with FDRS. Remind me later tonight when I am home and I will see what procedures FDRS las for the PCM on these vehicles.
@Zig Most of that info is still accurate. Since then, we have learned that the ACM, DSP, BCM and BECM can be updated via OTA.
Also, some of the prerequisites like parking brake being on and lights being set to off have been debunked as necessary for an OTA to go through.
Not sure if I posted...
🤣 Even if that is the case, the world turned 14 times before the update expired, so you can rule that out.
This is what a successful non-inhibit OTA looks like in PTS. After the interrogator posts the log, the file deployment commences. His car never made it to that part even though it met the...
Installing and downloading is shown on the log. That's exactly it. I'm his case, it did neither. Not the first time I ever see that happen, tbh. Just never been able to figure out any it happens.
Oh no. Ford sold Jaguar and Land Rover in 2008 and has had nothing to do with them since then. Ford was stamping a few engine blocks for JLR for a long time and Ford still makes the 5.0 block that JLR uses in the F-Type, Defender and a few other vehicles. However, the block itself is not of...
The only way I am tied to them is the fact that I am still a customer.
Yes, eventually it will be resent to you. There is just no way of knowing when that will be.
Yes, I can tell if your connectivity is working and it is working. I just don't have a good reason to explain why it didn't even attempt to download any of the files needed for the update in the two weeks the OTA trigger was active. The problem could very well have been on Ford's side. I don't...
I'm not sure if there is a way to measure the modem's signal strength. Unfortunately, PTS rarely gives you a straight up answer when an OTA fails. In this last case for him, the OTA trigger was created on the server on 4/19 and that same day, "consent" was given for the update to install when he...
It failed again. This time it got a little further along the OTA process than the first time, but your car never downloaded the files needed for the update after the server interrogator polled your car. I don't have a good explanation as to why it didn't download the files, as your connectivity...
Let's test the connectivity theory. Does anyone know how to get into diagnostics mode in these cars? On my truck, you hold radio power button and the previous track button until it gets to the speaker test screen. You wait for the speaker test to finish and end up here:
From this menu, you...
Yea, but his issue seems very different in terms of the connectivity issues and the codes his car is reporting.
Idk these cars. Is "custom mode" something you select on the touchscreen or in the screen behind the steering wheel?
Yea, you've gotten all 5 OTAs that have been pushed out to these vehicles. These little bugs are virtually impossible to diagnose. Your car is is not reporting any codes that I can attribute to what you're saying. That you know of, has anyone else reported this issue? You're talking about custom...
While you're at it, your car has reported DTC U211B in the ABS module a few times. There is an OTA that addresses this, but you have not gotten it yet. There is an update to the ABS module to prevent a no crank/no start issue affecting these cars. Show them this SSM and see if you can get them...
No worries. In this case, I highly doubt what I was going to recommend you try would fix anything. Unfortunately, it seems like the dealer is going to have to check why it keeps reporting this code. The first time it popped up was on 4/3 which was before you got your first OTA, so it isn't an...
