The journalists at the Charlotte event said the manual had the 7250 soft limiter but stated the auto pulled hard to 7500, i wonder why Steedas A10 pull fell off at 7250....unless there is a break in period that allows you to get to 7500. Im still confused on the 7250 soft limiter and why it is a thing.

There is more DT loss with the 10A. The 6M is around 12% DT loss. That puts the crank HP right around factory ratings. 500 crank/440wheel
Are you sure? I remember a video on YT where a guy compares S550 10A vs. S550 6 manual, both stock, same day, same dyno, and 10A gets some more HPs

Gonna try to find it

So they had 3 pulls right at 440. They seemed happy. Is that about 520ish at the crank?

No that seems about right at 500. Which would be near a 15% drivetrain loss.

Does the 10A have a high-gear lockout for track mode?
Do you mean a lock of the torque converter?

I remember people saying that in S550 the 10A locks as soon as possible, even at low RPMs and low gears... Not sure if in every mode, or just in track

Edit. Here you have some info:

A few notes:

TC Lockup occurs in 2-6 in the 6R80, and 1-10 in the 10r80.

The TCC solenoid is modulated to ramp the TC lockup engagement, so lockup is not harsh.

The TC is unlocked for shifts, and (obviously) while stopped.

The TC is locked at all other times except: it will disengage to increase rpm's for more power. This mostly occurs at lower rpms where the engine has the least power available. Inside the powerband (ex 3000rpm+ for the ecos), the TC will largely remain locked when not enough throttle is being commanded to warrant a downshift.

Dyno numbers are hardly different than armchair racing. Why don't they grab a S550 GT, Mach 1, S650 GT, and a Dark Horse and take them to the track with similar tires and no modifications. 10R80s for all 4 and put them in the same mode with the same launches. That should be a fairly definitive test, although I don't know why anyone expects more than a .1s deviation between the 4 in the 1/4 mile

I hope Carwow or Throttlehouse will do this asap.

After seeing the video of the dyno pull I remember TruckandRoll did a dyno pull on his 2021 Mach 1 before he installed his twin turbos. Max HP was 441.5 and max torque 389.87. That's about the same as the Dark Horse. It'll be interesting to see the quarter mile times.

Exactly this... It's my biggest concern with my upcoming DH. This thing is made to rev. I don't want to be blocked at 7250rpm. I want this thing to bounce off the rev limiter at 8k. So sad... 😥

No 440whp is what these cars should be making most gt350s make 460whp ish stock. Also that power curve is absolutely beautiful

Yall gotta stop comparing different dynos, until we get more cars on the dyno it’s a moot point. Just like how savage geese got 460whp on a mustang gt, ignore the numbers compare it to the Z

I completely agree i wouldn’t be a bit surprised with a higher redline and proper tuning the dark horse makes another 25-30whp all day long at high rpm’s
