The only problem I had was trying to undo the filter that had been tightened with a 1 metre power bar.
I now have 3/8 drive filter sockets and one universal clamp style.

Wait what? Hood flutter has a link with what kind of engine oil we use? 🤣🤣

I'm due to change my oil next month. Maybe I'll make a thread. Yes, I put the car on stands to get under it to drain the oil as usual, remove wheel and access the filter from the well. Cover the area above the k-member with rags to support my fashioned aluminum foil oil chute, direct the chute into my drain pan, punch a hole in the filter and rotate it to maximize emptying, then remove once drained. It's tight but it absolutely can be done mess free.
Dude how do you exactly get your oil filter off and change the oil like that?
I change my oil filter through the driver side wheel well with strategically placed aluminum foil.
Please do a thread with pictures ect, id love to see this and id like to do it that way. Seems much easier. 🙏

Maybe it's just me but I have no desire to take off my wheel & well cover to access the filter, unless there's something I'm not aware of? This would be further compounded when I put on mud flaps. I know the undercover is bad enough but that sounds like a lot of extra work.

Just weeks away from my first change now.

Your probably right, im just very curious how GhastlyTT does this. After I thinking about it its probably kinda hard but hey you never know. The car does have to be jacked up or on ramps. Unless you use a siphon and pull it out through dipstick.

I did see a post from one other user who does his this way as well. As you said the car would have to be jacked up or put up on ramps to get a oil pan underneath It anyway. I'm curious too. 🤔

Yes... heavier weight oil reduces the hood flutter... or you could just adjust the hood... 🤣
