Going to the dealer nowadays is like going to jiffy lube.

If its not inside the engine or trans I do it myself.

I've noticed a pretty dismal opinion of dealer Techs. What kind of training do they get?
Apprenticeships, or?

My only advice for you is do not take your car to the dealership for any service.
For the last 30 years or so I've never let anyone but a dealer work on any car I've owned except for tires; I've always provided my own Mobil 1 for all my vehicles.

If you think a dealer will screw up an oil change, that's nothing compared to an independent mechanic, as in both places it's always the newbies, students or work release employees who get oil change duties.

Even a nearby quick lube place that's only been open three months already has multiple complaints about people driving off without the oil plug installed.

Two caught it, one killed their engine.
