Hi,

I am the lucky owner of a brand new 2024 Mustang GT coupe, EU spec, competition pack with MR (rest all stock).

I love the car (not so sure about the Pirellis though…) but I have noticed that when going at speeds of 80-95 miles/hr I feel some trembling in the steering and front (including door handles etc).

If it wasn’t a new car I would say there is an alignment issue, but since the car has 1000 miles and nothing really happened other than normal highway driving I’m thinking my batch of Mustangs has some issues coming of of the factory (manufacturing date 04/2024).
Anyone else has had this problem?

Thxs a lot.

New cars also comes with alignment issues sometimes.
That's the first thing to check. Since it's new, bring it to the dealer and let them check it under warranty.

Just because it's new, doesn't mean the alignment can't be checked.

That's said, shaking or vibration at specific speed is usually the tires/wheels.

Trembling/shaking rarely caused by alignment issues. 90+% of the time it's balance.

THIS!

Misalignment will cause premature tire wear, uneven tire wear and that may EVENTUALLY lead to an out of round condition once the damage is very visible, but, in and of itself a misalignment is not going to cause shaking or vibration.

What tire PSI were / are you running - on the dash and what is the offset of the TPMS readings to your known good tire gauge?

What tires and what condition?

Does the vibration go away or improve when you go faster ? In other words, is the vibration only noticeable in this range?

Based on your description I would check the tire condition, balance and wheel run out both vertical and horizontal. If they check out, I would look at rotational driveline components.

The vibration goes away above 95 (didn’t try going above 110 yet…taking it easy before the 1st oil change).
Tyre pressure 34 front, 32 back, seems in ligne with recommendation.
Pirelli P0, stock GT Competition. Car has 1000 miles in the meter.

My Vert had a shutter in the windshield when brand new with the top down only and when I got to about 80mph.
I took the car to my mechanic for a 1st oil change at 1000 miles and had him check the alignment. It was off by more than a bit. But, that didn't fix the shutter.
It wasn't until I had the next oil change at the dealer at 5K and the tires were rotated. On the way home, I checked what the TPMS said and the pressures were lower than they had been from the factory. Still within spec, but lower. And, the test with the top down went very well, stable up past 100 now.
I believe it was a tire pressure issue, not the tires themselves.
Just my experience.

Echoing what was said earlier, it's almost always tire related. Tire pressure and rebalancing is the first place to start. Nothing wrong with alignment as long as it is at a trusted shop. Tire alignment scams are fairly common. If getting an alignment, be sure to ask for a printout of the alignement showing the caster, camber, toe, etc. That way you know what it was before and after and have proof that they did their job and didn't just take your dollar - uh, or quid or whaterver.
