Kudos, and an enthusiastic THANK YOU, to fellow member @Yamazuki , for a great meetup and an expert import of this modification. Mr. TH was a great guy to meet, get acquainted with, and shoot the bull with -- regarding Mustangs, motorcycles, North Dakota heritage, and a nice variety of other topics too. With his magical laptop and his knowledge & expertise, my "Continuous Gear Display" is now enabled and indicating flawlessly -- thanks to this gentleman.

Bonus: getting to see and admire his truly gorgeous, tastefully modified, and very much enhanced, Vapor Blue Mustang Dark Horse! It's a real beauty!! 🐎

You are quite welcome, man! Glad I was able to help out and that you're pleased with the change. As you mentioned, it was a great meetup! I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet a fellow enthusiast and forum member, hang out for a bit, compare cars, and just BS with you.

This is a great pic you grabbed of the DH, btw! Vapor blue probably wouldn't have been my first choice if I had ordered the car; but it's really grown on me. Always been more of a neutrals fan. White's, Grey's, Black's. So I was really digging the Shadow Black with Bronze package! Will definitely be looking forward to seeing transformation pics as you figure out what you want to mod!

Feel free to PM or text me anytime if there's anything I can do to help or if you have questions about things I've done on the DH! I sincerely hope we have the opportunity to meet up again sometime.

Hello guys, I'm really enjoying my new 2026 GT w/ the A10 automatic trans.

I'd like to always see the current gear I'm in while in "Drive" (not manual mode) displayed within the tachometer readout. It doesnt seem to be a selectable setting I can find. Which is odd -- my wife's Jeep Wrangler allows that.

I am aware of Forscan, and have researched it enough to understand that I am not interested in fiddling around with it.

Question: any way to get that feature activated? Can the dealership do it with their service computer? What specifically should I ask them for?

Thanks guys.

Just did the change in Forscan. It really is pretty simple. If you haven’t used Forscan before, follow these first time instructions then follow the video I previously posted (post # 20).

My '25 DH Premium initially didn't show the gear from the factory in auto, but after my shop installed the Whipple and the tune, it does now, which I love. What a rocket these cars become with the Whipple and tune. Traction is my biggest issue now, even with a Steeda Stop-the-Hop kit.

You arent paying for typing a single digit, you're paying for not bricking your PCM and being in a world of hurt over warranty concerns when you have to tow it to the dealer for them to fix. And the typical dealer response will be "bad PCM" which they will order a new one and need to bench flash it before you can be on your way. Even though we know it doesnt need it, they will say it does and you will end up with a several thousand dollar bill and a voided warranty. So about that $100...
All you are doing is plugging in and changing one option line from disable to enable. You aren't changing digits. And if you saved the factory settings before hand there is nothing to worry about.

Is there any downside to doing this?

It seems like Ford would have had it this way from the factory.

It is not terribly important information, but it would be kind of neat to see the gear number displayed when not in manual mode.
I did it last year. Its super easy and definitely worth it.
