Hello guys, I'm really enjoying my new 2026 GT w/ the A10 automatic trans.

I'd like to always see the current gear I'm in while in "Drive" (not manual mode) displayed within the tachometer readout. It doesnt seem to be a selectable setting I can find. Which is odd -- my wife's Jeep Wrangler allows that.

I am aware of Forscan, and have researched it enough to understand that I am not interested in fiddling around with it.

Question: any way to get that feature activated? Can the dealership do it with their service computer? What specifically should I ask them for?

Thanks guys.

Forscan is it... dealer "usually" won't do it... you can ask them. Any tuning shops near you? They may be willing to do the forscan mod for you. Or reach out to forum members that may be in you area.

What you’re asking for is continuous gear display. If you don’t want to deal with it yourself, your best option is probably going to be to find a forum member who lives close to you that can do it. It’s one of the easiest mods you can make in FORScan as it is just a matter of toggling the option from disabled to enabled - less than 5-10 mins effort for someone.

I would like that but haven’t ran across any in the Houston area (so far that is) that have been on the Forum and joined in the Conversations. I could drive to meet up if its just that simple and quick.

An equivalent of approx $900 per hour 🤯 Unless they will include any other changes in that price and also backing up your as-built configuration for you?

Its very easy to do in Forscan. But yes if your not comfortable with computers then you'd have to find someone to help you or pay them. Goodluck 🍻

Forscan is so easy to use. And it's free. I enabled my gear position indicator in all of 2 minutes.

Why would you not?

My understanding is that Forscan requires a Windows PC. Which I do not have. Does it work on a Mac?

Any Forscan users in Minnesota willing to help a buddy out? I'll bring beer and pizza 🍺🍕. Maybe some F-150 guys?

Thanks for all the comments -- keep 'em coming!

Yes unfortunately you do need a windows pc. Maybe someone you know has one you can borrow ect? You can buy a laptop pretty cheap these days. Anyway up to you.

I appreciate the advice, sincerely, but I wouldn't plan to purchase a dedicated PC just for this one-time purpose. I'd instead rather pay the dealer service dept, assuming they're willing. Or, find a friendly local enthusiast who's steeped in Forscan. Thanks again, and keep it coming!

Please don't pay >$100 for this. Takes probably 1 minute, it's literally typing a single digit. You could just offer one of the techs $20 to do it for you after work. Just find a younger looking tech, they'll know how to use computers.

At address IPC 720-02-01, change the 1st digit from 0 to 4.

(There used to be a 2nd change required (720-12-01), but Ford has updated that by default)

Where at in MN?

I go to Fargo and Grand Forks fairly regularly.

Edit:
Nvm, I see that you're in the cities.
Alexandria is close to half way between there and Fargo. Could meet up there next time I'm in Fargo for the weekend.
