How do you close your trunk? Without a handle . . .

I've had my brand new GT Premium for almost a whole week now. Love the car!

One thing I find missing (which other cars seem to always have these days) is a handle or hand grip inside the trunk, so you can close it without touching & smudging the exterior paint. I end up reaching up and around, trying to touch the "GT" emblem to push the lid down -- which is kind of awkward.

How do you guys do it? Is there an accessory or add-on part available to install a handle inside the trunk lid?

i personally use the base of the side of the wing to close it, but since you don't have a spoiler at all, here's a thread that might help

I removed one of the factory push pins that hold the trunk liner in. I put a 10/32 nut sert in the hole and screwed the nylon "pull" loop to the nut sert FWIW

I just use the edge of the decklid. Dont use the spoiler. Overtime you can make it loose and it cracks the paint where it attaches to the trunk.

+1. There's really no good way. About every 3 or 4 days I use a detailer spray to wipe off the fingerprints. 🫤

That strap idea looks pretty good. Certainly better than the one that you have to cut the latch housing to install.

I have a black out panel which really shows prints. I'll just grab the bottom edge until gravity takes over halfway down. it sounds overly precious, but I don't even think about it and prints don't show.

I place one finger on each side of the deck lid, bring down in one fluid motion and close.

I do not touch the spoiler.

I close mine via the spoiler, but it’s a decklid spoiler. I definitely wouldn’t if it were a wing type like the performance package comes with.

should clarify: i'm not grabbing onto the wing and yanking it down. i put my hand here on where it mounts to the trunk lid, and just pull it until it closes on it's own. no pressure or force. been closing it this way every time since i got it late 2023 and there's been no issues yet

I'm glad my OCD has reduced with age. I can now live with fingerprints. I do still struggle with skin product residue on the passenger door inner panels though.
