Close trunk with pull strap

So if you order the strap only, do you need to cut the cover somehow?

Having the strap is great if you think you need it. I have just used the lock mechanism for the last 12 years no problems closing the trunk. I never use the spoiler or lid to close. Bring the lid down 3/4 of the way and let it drop down. Be careful slamming down or droping down from a full hieght can cause things to break. This has been talked about on other forumns with trunk release breaking.
