It’s very simple.
Speed Costs Money. 💰
How Fast Do You Want to Go?
Speeding gives you choices and the choices are.
Loose your license, six months or more.
Get in an accident.
Cancel your insurance.
Kill yourself or others.
Be cripple for life, cripple others. .
You have a Lotta choices.
None of those are very good though.
Stat Alert.
Stay Alive.
Always expecting the unexpected.
Impressive almost-13-month thread resurrection !

hello all, let me start this off by saying i have never in my 31 years of living owned a car let alone a fast one(always had trucks). how do you guys keep yourself in check while on the highway? i find myself putting the exhaust in track mode and listening to the sweet sound of American power and it's becoming too addicting and I'm afraid it will catch up to me very quickly.
In my 62 years I have learned how to talk back to the bad man in my brain and drive mostly calm and don't go to much over the limit. However for the few times the bad man wins I have a radar detector.

I use a radar detector 100% of the time, and have found my eyes are the best radar detectors. An awful lot of tickets can be avoided by just looking for the po po when in a "speedy" mode. I keep fast, stupid people in front of me, I do it in places where it's hard for them to hide then get off the gas quick. I don't speed when I'm the only one around. Yes, I do speed when I feel like it and conditions warrant but very carefully in all ways.

When I rode sport bikes stupid fast, I would hire a lawyer, pay them a couple of hundred and that's all it USUALLY took to keep points off my record. I've had some super fast tickets but the right lawyer works wonders and I've gotten out of more tickets than I've been stopped for by being nice and honest about it. Yes, I'm a bad person.....sometimes. So is everybody else here.

I’m gonna be honest… my answer for this same question was to…… speed….. lol
However what I learned with my hayabusawas to do it as smartly as possible. Or as my dad told me “if yer gonna do dumb shit, you damn well better be the only person that gets hurt”
So to reduce my temptation to hammer down on the freeway in traffic, where there’s usually more cops and a fuck ton of innocent folks and their children.
I hit that freeway at 1am on Tuesday…. Get out of town a bit between cities, turn on my radar and make sure there’s no lights ahead or behind and let that sweet little coyote howl. The only person you can hurt is you and you are less likely to run into a cop and get a ticket AND you get it out of your system. So when you’re sitting in traffic the next day, you’ve gotten it out of your system.
That’s just my way of not doin dumb(er) shit.
