From that articleWhy automakers are finally killing start-stop engine systems.

Why am I shocked you'd be the first person to respond to that post with a counter argument? And BTW you totally cherry picked that and ignored the rest of the article. From that article
The other reason start‑stop is losing its grip is that the industry has moved on to more elegant solutions. Hybrids inherently shut their engines off at low speeds and during idling,
Only because things have moved on as I have mentioned many times before. Hybrids stop and start the engine many times more often than the simple S/S systems used before.
The headline doesn't really match the article

Sir, I didnt write the article. And yes, I read it because im the one that posted it. And I posted it because I thought it was relative to topic here. I didn't post it to agrue with you. But you do you.I cherry picked from something you posted
It isn't a counter argument - I was just confirming what you have posted that old style S/S is being left behind.
Read the whole article - so much to cherry pick ...
manufacturers are already de‑emphasizing start‑stop on new models, especially as they roll out hybrid variants that achieve better test‑cycle results without the same customer backlash
EPA’s recommendations for propulsion engines now emphasize strategies like installing fuel‑operated or direct‑fired heaters so that drivers can stay warm without running the main engine, a solution that targets the same problem as start‑stop but without cycling the powertrain on and off. For passenger cars, the shift toward hybrids, plug‑in hybrids, and full EVs effectively bakes idle reduction into the vehicle’s DNA, turning what used to be a bolt‑on feature into a core characteristic of the drivetrain.
No problem - I willSir, I didnt write the article. And yes, I read it because im the one that posted it. And I posted it because I thought it was relative to topic here. I didn't post it to agrue with you. But you do you.

No idea! Why did this thread have to be resurrected?![]()

I’m fairly sure mine doesn’t have it, after 3 days in it and a good hour or so going through all the settings I don’t recall the engine ever auto switching off or finding a setting for it now that I come to think about it.Somehow I got lucky and mine doesn't have it either. I thought I read somewhere that it was a parts availability issue at one point. Whatever it was, I'm eternally grateful for it!
