Looks really nice. I like the blue. I am sure it looks even better in person. Regarding the video, maybe you could upload it on YT and share the link.

Hey man how are things lately. I hope you are still happy with your ambient light. Have you tried to put wires in the cup holders like they used to be for the S550? I have read somehwere before that it is not easy as there are no connections to that part.

Can you share some more nice pictures or footage if possible? I will take it as best practice. Thanks buddy. @INSANEMUSTANG9

Wow, this is awesome! I am awful with this kind of stuff, and don’t have the patience for it, but I am going to find someone to help me or just pay someone to do. Thank you
Hey I was the creator of the video posted here. I actually do sell them as kits if you arent comfortable doing everything yourself. Send me a pm if you have any questions . https://www.etsy.com/shop/LastLapApparel

Ford added ambient lighting to the 2025 Explorer and did it similar to this. they have a thick fiber optic cable with an LED at the end and they have marks in the fiber optic cable to disrupt and broadcast the light

That’s looks really nice it’s a shame they didn’t just do it the mustang but do it for Lincon and other ford cars

some useful info for anyone trying this, here's a guide on how to find the right wires. ambient lighting has 4 wires, red power, green power, blue power, and ground. vehicles have 2 used ambient lighting zones, 1 and 3. zone 2 is unused and has no wiring at all. there is a long 26-pin connector coming out of the BCM which is located on the right side of the passenger footwell. below is a diagram of the connector
1697196742358.webp

pins 3 and 16 are not ambient lighting, so ignore them.
Pin NumberWire usageWire colorWire gauge
9Zone 3 RedWhite and orange22
10Zone 3 GreenWhite and green22
11Zone 1 RedOrange22
12Zone 1 GreenGreen22
13Zone 1 BlueBlue22
23Zone 3 BlueWhite and blue22
ground is always brown
Do you know if there’s an updated pinout for this? I’m looking at the connectors and I don’t see any that have that color combo in the pin locations. I might be overlooking it, but which jumper would it be under?

I just used the pass floor LED four wires, and then each door just use the four wires off door handle LED for the door leds, its such low voltage,

I don’t have ambient lighting optioned on my Mustang unfortunately. I’m trying to figure out the pinout of the BCM connectors so I can either add the pins to the connectors (if I don’t have the wires there already) or tap into the wires already there.

hehehe I caved and got the service subscription to figure out this wiring diagram for the BCM

The ambient lighting is split across two connectors in the late production versions; I have no idea why, but I won't question it.

I'm gonna probe these pins to see what kind of voltages I get off of them, and I'll update.

Been trying to do this, seems like my math just ain’t mathin to find the resistor values lol. I wire it all up and my green never works properly. Certainly been a headache considering I’ve measured values at least 20 times now on both the strip and the car. 🫠
