For those attempting this mod (that have a late production mustang) and don't have ambient lighting as an option, my post on this *does* have the wiring diagram for Zone 1 ambient lighting, which is what the door sill plates will use. I would not attempt to use Zone 3 (footwell/door handle...
Got the codes ran on the car, and it looks like the tire shop did a number.
BCM has a B124D:02-C8 DTC and the RCM also has a B00A0:63-28 DTC.
Messaged the advisor I worked with at the dealership, lets see how it goes from here
Having a fault pop up with the TPMS. The problem didn't follow with the tire, so I'm assuming it is being caused by a faulty/damaged TPMS receiver. I've hit several potholes throughout the year, but I don't think any of them would do enough damage to cause this problem.
The problem started...
Stop and go is the 2nd variant of TJA. Thereās some changes in the APIM for that as well.
IACC is what enables bluecruise, the more hands off version of self driving for fords.
Thereās nothing really stopping Ford from just making an OTA update to enable lane centering, as itās the same system...
EcoBoost here,
I can only dream of having lane centering; my last car had it and I slowly regret not getting the premium trim, considering that it looks like lane centering is bundled with ACC...
I'm petitioning for Ford to make lane centering a separate feature š
Too bad the paddle shifters donāt come separately, you have to buy the whole steering wheel! These cars for parts yards have my number memorized at this point the amount of times Iāve called them for the steering wheel š
I do yes, it wonāt show up on the gear display as being in gear but I still retain L functionality. Paddle shifters are on the list though so it wonāt be too long with L instead of M
I did this on my EcoBoost. The important thing is that you do not change anything related to the PCM, unless you actually have paddle shifters. All of the changes you need to make are with the IPC.
The two addresses you need to change in the IPC are the continuous gear display and the select...
The BMS doesnāt need to be relearned unless youāre replacing the battery unit. Otherwise, disconnecting the battery to do electrical work doesnāt need a BMS relearn.
Iām still researching this,
Early production mustangs have their ambient lighting controlled by the BCMB, which is in the trunk of the car.
Iām currently researching if ambient lighting can be ran directly from the BCM on early production mustangs, as thatāll save over 10ft of wiring.
I donāt...
The sensor is, unusually, very sensitive to rain regardless if your windshield is dirty or not. Ford uses a refraction sensor to determine how much rain hits that area.
Even if itās a light amount of rain, itāll speed up if more droplets hits the sensor. Itās also the case in reverse; if itās...
Alright, time for the full workup for the footwell lights! I'll make a separate workup post for when I install the door handle lights.
This mod took me about 3-6 hours total, though depending on your electronics skills, it can be more. Assembling the wiring harness is gonna take about 1-2 hours...
Definitely not aftermarket, the stangs bone stock
It plays through the speaker system so Iām assuming itās a chime/warning, but I havenāt figured out what itās for
Finally was able to get the startup sound on camera. I havenāt gotten a low battery charge sound before so Iām not sure if this is what it is or not.
Donāt mind the radar, thatās not the sound Iām talking about š
Wish heated steering was also possible with this upgrade but the clock spring would need to be swapped out as well for that šŖ
No codes or lights with your upgrade? It was basically plug and play swapping out the wheel? I want to do this mod next, but I also want to get adaptive cruise control...
I definitely want to attempt this on my Mustang eventually. Retrofitting ambient lighting into it was a headache so Iāll take a break from mods for now.
Are yall using LED strips or fiber optic for your setups?
I just got a funny start up chime myself, nothing like the heartbeat or ford chime.
Havenāt been able to recreate it, but it might be the unrecognized key chime.
Thereās also some tap points on the footwell lights themselves if youāre handy enough to do some soldering work (and donāt mind waiting a month or two if you break it since the lights are on back order)
It is resisted at those tap points and Iāll probably save you a few headaches trying to...
