I guess it's a good thing it isn't your car and your eyes won't be drawn to it and since he's the one who did it, I doubt his eyes will be drawn to it too much either. C'est la vie.

I don't think the trim ring can be ordered. The box is one unit. Probably a subcontracted part. Maybe Velcro or a dab of RTV would better.

I’m going to be nice and help you. Go to the dealer and get a new locking ring. They can have it in a day or two. The job will look A LOT cleaner.

i can’t get my ring to go back on because of those stupid tabs broke when I took it off!
