Ford Performance Strut Tower Brace-How Long Does it take to Ship?

I ordered my Ford Performance Strut Tower Brace on July 1st 2024 and it has not shipped yet. I called the Ford Accessories number and the rep said they would escalate this issue to their operations team as it normally does not take this long to ship. Has anyone else ordered this part and experiencing delays?

Just be careful tightening the nuts. I twisted the stud right off (using a torque wrench). Had to drill all the way through the shock tower and add a bolt. A quick google search indicates that it’s pretty common. I was pretty pissed about that for a while. Then an even more difficult bolt snapped and I figured that’s just Ford “quality”. Going to just drive it as is from now on.

Blaming Ford for using a torque gun where one isn't needed. OK ...

Did you check the torque spec for those before getting the torque gun out?

If by torque gun, you mean torque wrench set to 45 ft/pounds then yes.

The other bolt that twisted off, happened under the required specs too.

Not sure on the spec for 2024 but I remember 20 ft lbs for many other year mustangs. If it snapped off someone got the wrong info. Many other people on other Mustang forums have had this problem by not having the proper torque value.

I ordered on July 4th using my Ford Pass points along with a holiday weekend discount code. total cost to me was $.0.0. Each time I check online it says "Awaiting Shipping" . After numerous calls to Ford I finally gave up and told them to cancel it which took a week. Just got the email from Ford today so hopefully my points return to my account. If by torque gun, you mean torque wrench set to 45 ft/pounds then yes.

Never in my ~58 years have I twisted off a (new) nut or bolt using a properly calibrated torque wrench set to the correct torque specification. That had to suck.

I guess there is a first for everything.

S550 spec for the strut tower brace nuts was/is 41 ft/lb (55Nm).

I'm with you on the value but after checking the actual value it seems so much info on the bolts they maybe be a grade 8.8 value. Most that don't have problems stay around 30ft lbs. I can't remember what I torqued the bolts on my 2011 when I lowered and added Bilsteins. They might have increased the value on later years.

Same story here, used my points and ordered on July 6th. I have not received the strut tower brace or any reply from ford. Hopefully it comes soon, I do not have the patience for this type of service.

Any word on your brace? I ordered the GT350R kit (part M2020350R) because they it would fit and wanted to my points.
I ordered on 14 July and have called 3 times. They can't me if they have one, they are back ordered, or if they are ever getting any more.
Just give me my money and points / store credit and I'll buy something else.

cancel it. You can buy it cheaper and fast shipping with Summit or American Muscle, CJ Pony. I bought mine from one fit perfectly, and live in Canada.
