It will be a while before I can tool up for a vacuum formed part so released the 3D printed versions to shapeways.com. I have a couple on order so will verify fit when they arrive early February.

https://www.shapeways.com/shops/impactproducts

There is a one piece version that is a little less cost but will need to be split into RH and LH by the installer. Or you can order the RH and LH part separately.

We have had Shapeways run production parts for our van business and their quality is excellent.

All the best,
Hein

I just held the ZL1’s up and they definitely cover the front of the hole, not the bottom of the hole though (if you were underneath the car looking up), still should reduce rocks getting in I believe. I just held them up in place, have not mounted them yet.
Thanks for letting us know mate. The install should be straight forward im assuming? Let us know how you go mate and pics after install/mount would be great.! Thanks

If anyone wants to look at my post #191 you can see I have the rock guards installed and they will not cover the hole. The rock guards are really top quality and I'm sure they will help with cutting down on road rash. These also look similar to the GT 500 factory stone guards for the 2011/2014.

I have the ZL1 addons and they don’t cover this at all. Front bottom wherever. Unless they redesigned them or the DH ones are that different.

Let’s see pics! Cause I have them and they are installed and don’t!

Pics. ZL1 addons been in for months. You can clearly see they cover nothing on the second pic.

In the "FWIW Column", I just returned from my Ford dealer as I wanted to physically inspect the front wheel well issue on a brand new GT on the lot. It's there as big as life.

It still doesn't cover the bottom of the opening.
Thanks for the pic! Understood!
The likelihood of things getting in from the bottom is definitely there - but with the rock guard - at least the likelihood reduces by an extent. I reckon I’ll pick one up until we have people on here come up with a product that I could buy and put an end to this worry. 😊
Thanks again for being so detailed with your explanation

Some peeps on Facebook reporting that this rock guard for the fronts covers that sneaky hole.

https://zl1addons.com/products/copy-mustang-dark-horse-standard-rock-guards

Anybody else have experience with it? It could most likely be a marketing ploy that it does cover as the person has not shared the pics yet - but just claims it to cover it up. Any experience from members on here would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Sure thing! I'll be in Ohio for the solar eclipse. Pick me up at the airport and I'll hand them over.
Ha! Sorry wrong person! Thanks for the warning!

Thank you! I will await for someone else to come up with a design that can be purchased and covers that sneaky hole. Took her out today - she drives like a dream - but some wet roads I could hear all that gravel being picked up and I was like / there we go / more gravel inside that hole! I might just run a car wash vacuum in there soon. FoMoCo must do something asap!

Sure but price is gonna be a main point. My guess is the 3D printed ones will cost upwards of $50 a piece based on things I’ve seen. I can get ABS to do both sides for less than $10 and just take time which i have plenty of.
I’m wondering if I would buy the molding from Hein and overlay it with ABS, would that make it stronger? Give me your opinions! Thanks, REV745DH24
