Ambient lighting LED DIY

Work in progress but if your good with electronics you can add leds to factory my color, still need to do door panels and cup holder, these are single leds with fiber optic cable. that are swapped from common anode to common cathode, and individually resisted to match factory spec of existing ambient lighting LEDs im not the first person to do this (Ryan gabaldon) on YouTube did on his s550 so I copied his home work.

Husband said no way, he isn’t drilling holes to do this even though he has made
stereos from scratch. Too bad FORD didn’t think to do this and also add to glove box and garage door openers.

Yeah, I actually just watched the video a little while ago, and realized how involved this is. I doubt I do this either, although it does look really good.

some useful info for anyone trying this, here's a guide on how to find the right wires. ambient lighting has 4 wires, red power, green power, blue power, and ground. vehicles have 2 used ambient lighting zones, 1 and 3. zone 2 is unused and has no wiring at all. there is a long 26-pin connector coming out of the BCM which is located on the right side of the passenger footwell. below is a diagram of the connector

pins 3 and 16 are not ambient lighting, so ignore them.

There are tuners here in Germany who are specialised in this but to be honest I am not sure if that is risk free. If something happens with the eletronics, you are deffo screwed here and you will loose your warranty.

I was actually pretty happy with the ambient light on the S550.

IF THEY JUST WOULD HAVE LET THE CUPHOLDERS LIGHTS IN TACT FOR THE S650.... But now, for whatever stupid reasons they had to remove it. *ucking bellends.....sorry but that makes me angry whenever I got reminded about this topic.
