Last Friday, I started my car but there were a lot of error messages on screen and when I shifted into reverse, it killed the engine with a message about parking sensor failure. This happened twice, so I had it towed to my local Ford dealer, who gave me an 8am appointment Saturday however I have yet to hear back from them.

Looking at other posts on the forums it appears to be a common issue, related to the battery? It's on a 2024 Ecoboost Premium with 23,897 miles. I'm assuming repairs will be covered by the warranty? This has been stressful so far and I wish the dealer had a loaner car to give me but unfortunately they do not. If anyone has had this problem and knows how long it took to fix/ whether the warranty covered it I'd appreciate it!

I'll update this thread once I learn more.

Just picked my mustang back up, here's what the service sheet said:

Check for DTCs retrieved multiple network codes. As per SSM53759 ran the FDRS "Trusted Real-Time Operation Network (TRON) Module Authentication" procedure. Cleared codes, restarted vehicle several times and put into gear no issues. Road tested vehicle and rechecked for any codes no codes.

It's always worth putting the battery on charge when something like that happens. Modern cars are ridiculously voltage sensitive.

Could definitely be caused by a low or bad battery

I hope Ford doesn’t reimburse the dealer for this. All the tech did was clear the codes on the assumption it’s a transient issue, but that does nothing to troubleshoot why it happened or prevent it from reoccurring.

What codes?
What do the codes represent?
what troubleshooting was performed?
< this isn’t a question about what was done, that’s been stated, which is not troubleshooting >
