the potential advantage is reduced heat right? or just cosmetic? I have mine on. I would consider taking it off if it does in fact do something to reduce heat. Otherwise, I think it looks better on than off on a stock setup.

They litteraly just lift right off unless you have a strut bar. Why do you ask Fran?

Unless of course Ford never gave you one, LOL (Ecoboost engine comes naked).

My brother did this on both his Hemi Durango and Challenger. He said they hold heat in. I told him he's full of it! lol
The Mach 1 and GT350 had no cover .
Give me some proof and I'll remove it,

If I were going to track/drag my GT I would, but daily driving? NAH!

Was wondering. I know quite a few people that pop them off as soon as they get a new vehicle with them

I prefer the look of the Coyote not a piece of plastic screaming 5.0.

Its just a peice of plastic. I call BS on anyone who thinks they are enough to make any measurable difference in heat. I personally like the looks with them on. But if you dont, just take it off. Easy easy.

Now the flying saucer they put on top of the Gen 3 coyote GT was absolutely hideous. 🤢

No, people i know do not do it for heat. They do it because they want to see an engine.

Gotcha. Thing is, there isnt much to see on a Coyote even with the cover off because of the overhead cams. Even the Mach 1 had to dress things up a little with the faux valve covers. But yeah, if you dont like it just take it off. 👍🏻

The Gen. 4 Coyote engine (Mustang in this case) provides a lot of bang per Liter / Cu. In.

The Gen. 4 Coyote, it's predecessors, and most modern engines today will never win a beauty contest. Toping a Gen 4. with SC does help. Short of that (including w/SC) the engine from a "looks" and presentation viewpoint are......... underwhelming.

My opinion.

Cover on - Toilet seat/cover down
Cover off - Toilet seat/cover up

@Farmer Fran - I voted no on your pole. When I installed my Ford Performance SC I had to remove the cover and intake. If I hadn't gone the SC route the cover would still be in place. I love the HP of modern engine but miss the days of dressing up a built engine to the nines. Dressing up an engine is still possible but limited compared to "back in the day".

I'll say this too - If this is something you're contemplating do it and to heck with what anyone else thinks including myself.

I have something there where this was supposed to be? It has Ford Performance written on it, a black ribbed case... It's pretty wide. My strut bar could not fit because of it. It has hoses and such hooked up to it and my CAI splits into two outlets....

When I looked it up, it says "Ford Performance Whipple Supercharger....

The best looking engines, other than the Alfa V6 with chrome inlets, were any twin cams with multiple Weber carbs. Downdrafts on V's, sidedrafts on anything else.
Pure automotive porn.
You can even get that look with fake Webers hiding injectors.

I changed my vote to no because I misunderstood the question. I have removed the cover to clean the engine bay. I did not permanently remove it for esthetics. 😉
