FWIW - been using Forscan since 2018 on my Ford trucks. Yes, make back up copies of everything! I print out a copy of the changes I want to make (copy and paste instructions from various sources) and the "as built" data with the data to be written. I make the changes on the as built printout, then make the same changes in Forscan. Then I file the hard copy away with the paperwork I keep on the car, as a hard copy record(s) of all Forscan changes.

So I started looking around for tutorial videos and found some. I'm off tomorrow and will have time to learn how this is all done. I'm excited! This opens up so many possibilities!

In the seven years I've used Forscan, I am not aware of a "bricked" vehicle. Every change I've ever made has already been done by someone else and they have posted their result (or expected result). The basis of the changes come from spread sheets created by Ford enthusiasts who are much more tech saavy than I, and have done a lot of data changes to validate their results. If, you inadvertantly make an error in writing a change to your as built data, just use your as built data and change it back to "as built". My as built data is a text file that is only 37 KB that I just keep on my laptop (not a flash drive) so that I can print it a page at a time. I do better looking at a piece of paper in one hand and Forscan on my laptop.

Well that's reassuring! I don't really feel as intimidated by it anymore. I'm watching tutorial vids on it right now. I got this! Hey thank you for the help. Seriously! This community is pretty amazing.

Hi! Ok, that makes me feel a bit better. So I'm curious though, say if I change something that really REALLY fucks up the ECU, how do I use that build copy to reverse the damage? I'm guessing the base build gets stored on a USB flashdrive? And then how do you use it? Would that be flashed back to the car via Forscan?
So if you changed something that messes something up, you can reverse it with your saved module files. Just watch the videos on YouTube you'll see how it works. Its not that hard. And I also haven't heard about someone bricking there vehicle with Forscan. All the best 👍

That's good to hear. I'm going to be watching more videos today.

Hey I wanted to reach out and let you know that it worked! I followed the directions and changed the settings so no more ANC! I can finally listen to music with my sub on and no more white noise crashing through the speakers! Thank you again!

I was curious, I followed your post on disconnecting the ANC but there was another setting you mentioned, which was the ESE systems. Is that also responsible for the Gallup noise when you open the door while the car is running? I'm going to look back on that thread to see if there are codes I can change for that one as well.

Oh, any recommendations on what to change next? I'd really like to get rid of the auto stop/start but I heard that is proving to be fairly difficult.

ESE supposedly pumps in fake exhaust noise, especially at higher rpm's. Personally, I didn't really notice it, but knew it would interfere with the subs if I left it on.

Disabling it doesn't affect the Gallop noise. Mine is disabled and I still get it, but not through subs b/c installer tapped into rear speakers for the signal.

I think there is something you can buy and install like a module to disable the start/stop, but seems like a lot of hassle to install.

Oh God the Gallup noise through the subwoofer is awful. I think I can live it though. The important thing was to disable the ANC. You don't know how long I tormented over that! I thought I disabled the one in the rear headliner, but turned out it was the line to the antenna, so that explains why I couldn't get radio stations . But now is all set right in the world!

I know you're new to FORScan and maybe aren't ready to start FAFOing yet, but:

You said a base model, so no B&O right? This means that the start-up sound is fromt the splash screen going from the APIM to the ACM and through the speakers. Which means, in the APIM, you have have this config in this location:

Key location here is xxxx XXxx xx--

1D there is the "pony" welcome animation for non B&O Mustangs. So to get rid of the galloping sound, you would need to get rid of the splash screen completely. Either change it to 01 for Stock Ford, or you can try 06 for non-Shelby Mustang to see what that does.

If you don't get the desired result, you just change it back to 1D (assuming 1D is there now, which it should be as I pulled the config above from a 2025 Mustang with the base sound system).

Awesome! I'll give this a try on Saturday. What does B&O stand for?

Bang & Olufsen which is the branded system on vehicles with the upgraded sound system.

Which made me think of something: You can also try changing it to 1C to see what happens. If that directs the galloping sounds to the DSP of the B&O system which you do not have, it will send the signal for the galloping noise to no-man's land and not make a sound but you'd get to retain the same splash screen it has now. This is just a theory.....only one way to find out, though.

Haha ok! I'll dig into this in the near future.

Hey , can you confirm the seatbelt splash screen removal you have here is foolproof? Does it cause any seatbelt/breaking issues that ive heard might happen? It removes the splash screen and sound ect without any unforseen complications?

All I can say is: Making the listed changes to the IPC turns off the annoying seat belt spalsh and warning chimes (on my 2026 Mustang). Did it affect any other systems ? ... "don't know and doesn't matter". It does not affect any mechanical function of the belts - like the inertia reel.
Air bags - I doubt it, but don't know. If you have concerns, the easiest fix is a simple buckle (buckle extension) inserted into all of the belts.
