Well, I can rant about how good the brakes are (not on a track, but I have my own "tracks")... and my car is not a DH or GT... just an Eco with the HPP. The brake parts are all the same... with the exception of the front rotors. Whether there is bespoke (different) programming, I can't say. I think Ford spends more on bespoke marketing than bespoke programming though... and the DH HP tires may be the only "programming" difference. For reference, I have had a few cars with brembos... these however, are the largest yet.

I seriously doubt the ABS programing is different. Ive never seen or heard of that assertion anywhere before. Not to mention it seems highly unnecessary and expensive for Ford to do.

Agreed about Ford's marketing. I really think that has contributed to a lot of misinformation online. The "special tuning" was a subject of many debates about the Mach 1 until it was debunked. Unfortunately its carried over to the DH community.

I’d spend that money on headers or put it towards a whipple fund.

Headers is illegal here, and a whipple is more than 10x the price.

There is no dyno? It sounds as if they are putting in a can tune from someone else. If that is the case, you would be better off buying an RTD tuning device and using a custom tune from a tuner of your choice.

Depending on who you would go with, you may save a little in the process.
1. 199 for 4 credits
2. 299~399 for an RTD device from HP Tuners (Pick who you want to purchase from: Steeda, Lethal, Panda MS, HP Tuners, ect ect)
3. Pick a tuner to tune. I use Shoemaker Performance.

Actually, looking at the Shoemaker site, an LV-1 tune, N/A with the RTD device, and credits would be $849 USD.

I am assuming you know the difference between advertised octane ratings in the US and in Europe, but, just in case, I am reminding you to check that. This tune is essentially going to require 98 over there (Super Plus 98).

I'm from Europe and I always use 98.
That's why I said 93 because it's the US version

Yeah thats a lot. I charge about $1k for 8 tunes, the RTD4 flasher and tuning credits. The 8 tunes are 4 for pump gas and 4 for E85.

When you say 8 tunes, do you mean in a single session for one vehicle or one client? For instance car owner has the tune device already and purchased 4 Ford credits, Is that is considered a single tune? What do you think is a good price in that instance? What should it cost for just a power upgrade for 91 octane only nothing else like pop/flame ect? Does one save money by buying the device and credits beforehand? Thank you in advance. Yes each client I tune for the s650 gets 8 separate tunes unless they dont want all of them which is rare. I do the 4 pump gas (91/93 usually) and 4 for E85. With all the options I listed. So you have a tune for any scenario you want to run. Ghost cam, no ghost cam or ghost cam with pop flame. And again, for either pump gas or e85. That all includes the RTD4 flasher shipped to you already loaded with the 4 tuning credits required to license the PCM and TCM. Once the car is licensed you can flash any of the 8 tunes you want whenever you want as many times as you want.

And you also have your stock file in the app as well so technically its 9 tunes, one being your stock file. Most folks will run a 91 or 93 power tune and switch to a ghost cam or pop flame for a while then switch back to normal idle power tune. Depends on what you want. I have people that run the ghost cam 24/7. Mine are perfect for both auto and manual and cat safe to drive on every day. No excess fueling issues at idle clogging up cats like others might do. Depends on the cam angles, and I do them correctly. I have hundreds of videos on my tiktok of all my customers. I tune several s650s a week. Im over 500 now since last year when tuning came out.

If you already have the RTD4 and credits then I do tunes only using your stock file from TDN and I charge $400 for 4 tunes or $500 for all 8. They would go in the vehicle folder along side your other tuner's tunes. Of which I cant see, and they wouldnt be able to see mine. $400 is the minimum Id charge even if you only wanted 1 tune and you already had the RTD4 and credits. And you dont need more credits to run my tunes and you can always flash your other tuner's tunes.

I do this all the time. A big part of my daily tuning is "retuning" cars from unhappy other tuner customers. Lots of bad tuning going on with horrible ghost cam and lots of terrible trans tuning or none at all. Or fast tunes that drive like absolute dogshit. Love those...LOL It would blow your minds if you knew what I know... Thats all Im sayin. These cars are pretty easy to dial in for both perfect drivability and gobs of power. You can have both.

You probably would never know what was done in the background to your vehicle. Also with all the dyno number disparities and hearsay ect.

You have no idea. And whats worse are all the nut riders pushing tuner names that they've never used. Swaying people into spending money because they read it on a FB group or forum. Then they end up looking for a new tuner anyway because the hype wasnt real... This is probably half my business, filling that gap where the hype was but disappeared once they drove the car on the new tune...lol

I do have to calm down here. Im just a humble poster like yourself and dont pay for sponsorship here and Im not trying to do business here either. I promised the mods I would keep it low key, so thats about all I can say on this matter. If they want me to edit a post I will. I enjoy being here and helping out, my platform is tiktok and thats where I keep it. Not even on IG or FB. And business is good.
