My dealer is clueless to this information, but they're at least willing to look on Saturday and see if they can order mine. On the upside they will sell for MSRP and only $199 doc fee, so I'm willing to work with them. I'll keep y'all posted!

Interesting how that conflicts with an earlier post (from you) from AFS Auto Forecast Solutions, an equally plausible and respected source stating a MY24 Start of Production Date of 03/06/23.

One presumably Post or Pre-dated the other, and therefore is probably updated or outdated, and as the Donlan forecast (which is usually very reliable) lacks an MY24 End of Production Date, possible suggests this Pre-Dates AFS. However the counterpoint to this is Schedules are usually pushed back, rather than brought forward - so who is current and accurate ?

No one knows, but i know the source i posted is fleet management which probably cares more about retail orders, while the other may be a supplier. So Job 1 is in early April, maybe the magazine test cars are produced first and they need parts to start manufacturing in late Feb/early March? Just guessing. Either way, none of the sources are Ford and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Yes they are all secondary sources, only Ford and Ford insiders would be a legit (Primary or semi-Primary) source of info.

Thanks! Well that clinches it as a Ford Primary Source - Order Bank Open 01/14/23 and Production Starts 04/11/23 as per Donlan and Element Fleet Forecasts.

wanted to give an update about this, apparently Ford just doesn't talk about the Mustang much
i could only find a communication from Ford about the Mustang order banks when they announced the 2022 MY banks opened, and there was no indication beforehand that they would
i couldn't find any 2020, 2021, or 2023 MY order bank announcements, so a January 14th date is 100% possible

While it is possible that, with a new mark coming, the configurator might be updated. But based on past performance (last three years at least), I doubt it.

Ford's configurator for the MY24 Mustang will most likely be late, with inconsistencies and errors. Ford doesn't allocate proper resources or personnel to it (MO). I've haven't noticed if other models receive the same level of support (lacking). It's an unfortunate, missed opportunity which could increase brand awareness, cachet and sales.

If you like, you can still use the site to request a quote for an order.

Build something, anything at Ford's site. Towards the end of the build process, there will be a Notes field. Have a text prepared, with information from the MY24 order guide within, a simple paragraph explaining yourself and your contact information; paste it into the Notes field and submit the build.

Once sent, someone from the closest dealer, Internet Sales, will reach out to you.
