No need for an apology if yours doesn't have a cooler. I'm just trying to be sure there is accurate information out there for people who are interested. It's aggravating that Ford doesn't give a detailed breakdown of the differences between models and packages; everything they provide is general marketing information for the average consumer. For those who are looking for details, it ends up requiring hunting for answers in places like these forums. The more information we can provide on the forums the easier it makes it for those in the future looking for answers.

I just did a google search on the differential cooler, as I had not previously, and here is what Google AI gave me:

When asking artificial interaction it all depends on how the question is asked

Alright, KRISK, I got under the car but didn't remove the rear air damn. No reason to bc I can see enough. You are right, the car does not have a differential cooler. It is only wired with a sensor to monitor temps and no cooler is attached to the unit.

I read information on Google and believed what I read. I seem to remember seeing this a couple of times online. After seeing the diff temp gauge - and seeing that the car has an oil cooler and extra engine cooling at the front driver side - I didn't think to question it.

Just goes to show that a person cannot believe everything they read online, even when it weems like it is a reputable source. I even made the decision to purchase the GT over the Darkhorse or Mach 1 on that information.

Here's the easy part: I apologize for insisting that the car has a diff cooler based on the information I was getting. Now the hard part is gonna be upgrading my diff! lol

I'm glad we have cleared this up. I'd hate to steer anyone else wrong. I have been researching more about the cars and it appears that there is a lot of misinformation about them online.

Nothing to apologize for. You were stating what you had read and you weren’t rude or a jerk. I did a write up on the MMR differential cooler install which you may want to check out. It’s somewhat of a pain to install, but works great and keeps the temps down on the track.

Thanks for being patient and providing accurate information. I like to bring the same energy to everything, so if I insisted that the car has a diff cooler (based on the information I read without fact checking), I want to also insist on apologizing. It's important to fact check and I'm glad we have the correct information here.

Unfortunately the rims turned out to be 9" so no 305's. what do you recommend for widest, safest tire for track use?

For track use, ditch the factory wheels and buy some 11" aftermarket wheels so you can run 305's.

If that's not an option for you, then I wouldn't go any larger than 255 on a 9" wheel.
These cars desperately need more tire in the front than what they come with so I would highly recommend considering aftermarket wheels.

My TT car ran Hoosier A7, 315/30-18 on Enkei PF01 18x10.5 wheels w/43mm backspace. Began running 275/30-18 Toyo Proxes and slowly increased the tires and brand till I found the best fit, balance, traction, etc.....
