What are your thoughts on changing the oil for track days to 5W50?

What are your thoughts on changing the oil for track days to 5W50?

For a track day I think it's a great idea, but I would swap back to 5w30 for daily driving.

Eh, I just run the 5W-30.

If your engine oil is getting too hot, though, the 5W-50 can trick the computer into thinking the oil is cooler than it is, so you can push a little longer and hotter without the car going into limp mode.

I have not driven fast enough on track to cause that issue, though.
