No one knows for sure, but 2028 would mean the S650 would only have a run of 5 years whick I don't believe. With EV sales slowing down, IMHO, the S650 will have a normal life span of 8 or more years. Now it's entirely possible that there will be a 2 or 4 door coupe version of the 2nd generation Mach-e built at the Cuautitlan plant. But, I don't see the next generation Mustang built at Flatrock plant until next decade.

And yet Stangmode says the facelifted S650 with a Gen 5 Coyote comes in 2028. Who to believe.......
The 2015 was heavily facelifted in 2018, so there's that.

But will we get a truly new Mustang in 2028? Probably in 2030.

Let's not forget that the S650 itself is really just a warmed over S650. And not even warmed over that much. Many parts of it are direct carry-over.

This was clearly a car meant to save money more than to create a new platform for a full generation. - as it is already an extension of the s550 generation.

Making hydrogen fuel is very energy intensive and costly. Ever wonder why hydrogen has not already taken off if it is so good?

Cost and lack of infrastructure.
True. But I think it

Me too. We can always wrap it. I will never own an EV, even if they give it to me for free. My time on Earth is finite, I will make every mile count!

I would be more than happy to buy a EV for my daily car,
but it would only be at the same price as the petrol equivalent.

No way am I paying for 5-10+ years of fuel savings upfront, absolutely insane

Let's just be clear here. Sales of EV's are NOT slowing down, but the rate of growth is slowing down. VERY different.

Only if you never listened in maths lessons!

EV sales are increasing, so the sales are 'speeding up' not 'slowing down'.

For sales to be 'slowing down' the sales need to be falling which they are not!

Cannot have growth without increase. Do not get increase without demand. Sales is an indicator of demand.

Will we see a final stroke (26-28MY) with Bullitt, Boss 302, Mach 1, Shelby... editions?

Here's why people aren't buying EVs in spite of price cuts and tax breaks.

Maybe you should read the article rather than post a headline!

In the link YOU posted which matches the data I posted:

EV sales are expected to keep rising, with “the market firmly on track to surpass 1 million for the first time ever” in November, Cox said.

Still, as EV availability has lately grown “exponentially,” consumer acceptance has grown only linearly. “Those trends will likely continue, making for some very interesting market dynamics in the years ahead,” it said. “Change is never easy.”

EV sales are INCREASING NOT DECREASING!

I'm sure there will be limited editions along the way, Ford always do.

I'm equally sure what happens post 2028 will depend on how the Mustang sells and if demand is still there. Coupe's are declining in sales everywhere. I like a coupe, but I was not brought up on a diet of SUV's and even electric SUV's which the current generation are. And it is the current generation that will be buying new cars in 2030's and beyond.

In future electric variants… SURE!!

BOSS-E, SHELB-E

honestly I think the dark horse will help kill off all these old nameplates, no need for bullets or boss, machs or Shelby’s anymore… old ass shit from the 1900s… let the past die already.
