Quiet start? Not really…can it be changed?

Nothing you can do to quiet it more than quiet mode that I know of, but you can set the timer and have it with a 1 hour gap between 2-3am so it always starts in quiet mode.

Heck. 55+ can't hear a thing you ask them I think they go it just to mess with people. You barely have the TV up and they say it too loud. Yet when a mouse farts they can hear it. Call them an old fart under you breath they say "I heard that you young whippershnapper!"
Yep, I can hear mouse farts, but put me anywhere with a lot of ambient noise, and I'm nearly reduced to lip reading.

This is what I do, and I start it with the garage door closed until the fast idle has dropped.
Remote start makes this easier, and I do ventilate the garage well.
Also, my neighbours kid has a bloody noisy baby Lexus which makes mine sound like mouse farts

If you assign an exhaust mode to the 'favorite' button, pressing the button activates the exhaust mode programmed, and pressing it again restores the previous exhaust mode.
Thanks for the additional information.

We live in a 55+ community, and just bought a 2024 Premium GT convertible…….and the initial start-up explosion is, I am sure, disturbing to my neighbors. We’ve activated the quiet start but nothing is QUIET about the car until a block from home. I’ve read somewhere that the REAL quiet start may not truly activate until the weather is warmer? Is this true, and can anything lease be done to quiet the car intially???
I also live in a 55+ community. My feeling is let the beast roar! It still not as loud as the mowers and leaf blowers the landscape company uses. Some of my neighbors are jealous remembering the cars they owned in the 60’s and 70’s.

I LOVE this conversation, seriously I do. I say - AFFECTIONATELY - we spend 50% of the time on this forum discussing aftermarket H and X pipes, deletes and exotic exhaust systems that will make our rides ROAR and BARK and 50% of the time trying to quiet the cold starts. I have so much fun reading all of the comments, it isn't fair. No question the cold start is loud (and there's nothing that can be done about it as the engine requires this for its health) but I love it. Most of my neighbours love it too. One guy who didn't, I invited over for a beer, showed him how to use the remote rev and took him for a drive. Let him drive it back. Afterwards he invited me over to his place for a beer and as we tapped cans he said "Now, I get it". A few days later his wife said (not sure if she was kidding) "thanks a lot, he's looking at Mustangs on the internet". My wife said - "so now you're giving test drives - there are a lot of people within earshot of your Mustang - you're going to be busy".....It's always MY Mustang when there's an issue, the rest of the time I have to fight her for the keys LOL. BTW loved the recent comments on the forum about BMW vs Mustang. Lived in Europe for four years. Yes, a lot of Euro rides are slick as goose $hit with interiors like a Manhattan condo - BUT - I never drove one that made me feel as bada$$ as I do in a Mustang GT. I hate to confess this, as I'm a old geezer, but one night I went for a drive, put on my Detroit Tigers "lid", flipped my hoodie up over it, slung some bada$$ tunes from my phone through The Bose+ system and went cruising....the other guys at lights just backed away. Mustang GTs and DHs..... man we ARE the last road gangstas left. Try that in a Euro ride..... Ha Ha. Even 'vette owners tell me, "man I love that Mustang GT sound". Just sayin'.....

What a great story. Thanks for sharing your experience(s). I've had my GT convertible for only a month and when the top is down, I've had 3-4 random people pulling up beside me at traffic lights, asking questions or telling me how cool the car is etc... I've owned 12 cars in my 70 year life and this one is shaping up to be my favorite...by far! Enjoy today! 🌞

I don't know. All the 55+ folks in my neighborhood want to hear it - they ask me if I can fire it up for them. Maybe I'm just surrounded by a bunch of reformed gearheads, but they all want to talk about the cars they used to own, the races they used to have, the trouble they used to get into, and I am more than happy to offer a beer and bullshit with them for a bit. I know you're trying to be considerate, and I can respect that, but you're also assuming that it's a bother to your neighbors. Have you asked them about it?

Also: Greetings from the other side of the mountains, fellow Washingtonian.

I haven't tried quiet mode in my car yet. I do think the S650 exhaust is fairly loud though, especially on cold starts. In fact, the cold starts in my new GT are every bit as loud as my previous Mach 1. That cars quiet start worked very well when it was programmed. I'll have to give the new one a try to compare.

🤔. Could be because you're not some young hooligan doing burnouts, ripping up and down the streets, playing loud music which is compromised of mostly bad words.

Says who? :cwl::cwl::cwl:

Seriously though, the guy that lives next door with is big lifted diesel Ram 3500 is older than I am and is exactly everything you've just described, which might explain why other folks walk past his house to have a beer and a chat at mine.

Here in AZ it seems most drive their trucks and performance car purchase off the lot and head to get the exhaust made louder. I almost always hear vehicles winding out in the distance. I'm not sure what the noise level laws are. Plenty of cowboys here in the west. I remember when I was in Vegas for the 50th anniversary 3k plus Mustangs running everywhere. All this is music to my ears. Its nice to be considerate of neighbors but most would not reciprocate..
here is the absolute full extent of the exhaust noise laws in AZ

Arizona Revised Statues article 28-955 said:
A. A motor vehicle shall be equipped at all times with a muffler that is in good working order and that is in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise.

B. A person shall not use a muffler cutout, bypass or similar device on a motor vehicle on a highway.

C. The engine and power mechanism of a motor vehicle shall be equipped and adjusted to prevent the escape of excessive fumes or smoke.

D. Beginning with motor vehicles and motor vehicle engines of the 1968 model year, motor vehicles and motor vehicle engines shall be equipped with emissions control devices that meet the standards established by the director of environmental quality.

E. A person who violates this section is subject to a civil penalty of at least one hundred dollars.

F. This section does not apply to an electrically powered motor vehicle.
