Ford has released a new safety recall affecting 4595 vehicles built between 7/25/23 to 11/15/23

"The rear suspension in some of the affected vehicles may be built with a knuckle that contains a casting imperfection. This may result in the fracturing of the knuckle. A fractured knuckle may reduce vehicle lateral stiffness and result in significant toe-in or toe-out of the rear tire under braking or throttle application. Drivers may experience limited vehicle steering control as a result, increasing the risk of a crash."

Sheesh. They may as well just REPLACE them all. Of course sn inspection only catches it IF it’s already at a certain state of wear.

Ford has released a new safety recall affecting 4595 vehicles built between 7/25/32 to 11/15/23
LOL I realize this is just a simple typo but it is hilarious to me since Ford is the leader in recalls; I'm sure they will continue to issue recalls through 2032... :giggle:

My car is lowered with coilovers, does that change anything, or would I still be covered.

as long as you have the factory rear knuckles (what the wheel bearings and brake calipers mount to), you may be affected by the recall

Out of curiosity any diff for pp cars or are we using a standard ‘stocked’ part - tbh feel more comfortable letting her rest in my garage while awaiting parts than theirs, if it turns into a backorder problem.

yeah... don’t be surprised if this is extended. I got rolled into the F150 brake master cylinder recall after it was limited to a select group, then expanded over time. This one does seem to be identifiable to a specific range of parts - and likely from a particular batch/supplier.

Ford doesn’t want you dying in their cars & trucks due to a defect. Even if they may not be the quickest on the draw to recall, jury verdicts against “big, greedy” manufacturers is a popular sell in court.

For anyone that may know - Would you base the built date window for the recall on the blend date that's on your window sticker?
