As expected, when I took it in they said the technician would have to verify the serial numbers personally due to liability concerns even though I provided pictures.
yeah, if any dealer just took the customer's word that their vehicle passed a recall and Ford found out, that would be serious trouble for everyone that got the green light from. Ford is incredibly strict about what dealers do with recalls, especially safety ones

Picked up my car from the dealer around noon. As I already knew, the numbers did not match the affected parts. At least my car now won’t show an open recall.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the image above is of the driver's (left) side, although the "Note" says it is the passenger side. Even the second line of the serial numbers match up to the left rear knuckle. Am I looking at it incorrectly?
I checked the left side today and I have matching numbers for line 2. My question is do you have to have all 3 lines matching numbers or does any one-line constitute a recall.

All three lines must match. The first is two lines on my car matched, but the last two numbers on the third line were different. I imagine the first two lines are either a model or batch number with the third line being the actual serial number.

Thanks for the clarification.

Is any of the recall happening on a Dark Horse or not?

I hope not. If so, I’m toast. 😒

I’m pretty sure for the purposes of the recall, they much replace the defective part(s).

I'm thinking the same thing, but I'm hopeful they will take pictures in place of having to check it out themselves. I'm taking my car to the dealer in about an hour for the recall. I have the pictures of the knuckles printed out and am hopeful they will close out the recall without me having to leave the car, but we will see what they say.
This is a pretty serious problem, and reminds me of a time a few years back...

I bought a Ducati 1198s right out of the crate. I was diligent with service and came in one time to find a recall that had just been issued - I had not even gotten the letter.

S/M: “Bro, I got good news and bad news; bad news first, you can’t ride home. Good news, service is all done. There’s a recall on the fuel system, specifically the fuel line"

Before thinking, I spoke: “I can just take her home and drop her back off later today"

After saying this sentence, I immediately realized the stupidity but not fast enough ...

S/M: “The bike can spontaneously catch on fire if the fuel spills on to the exhaust"

I mean, when you put it that way, it sounds kinda bad.

Do the recall. Let the stealership put eyes on the parts and be sure they’re not affected. I received the Ducati recall in the mail the same day I left the bike to have the fuel line verified. It was unaffected, but you never know...

Currently at the dealership for this recall and they can't read the serial numbers because I had an undercoating done. Saying they might have to remove the wheels and brake calipers.

Edit: turns out they only had to remove the wheels. I left without knowing whether or not my car needs the fix. They said it looks like it doesn't need it, but they hadn't heard back after submitting the pictures to Ford. They said they would call me if it turned out I needed the fix.

Second edit: Just got a call from the dealership and my car PASSED.

Looks like Dark Horse isn’t getting any recalls on the rear knuckle recall!

Giving this thread a bump.

Attached is a photo of a car whose knuckle failed.

This car had exited a touch-less car wash moments before. I suspect, speculate, the dramatic changes in temperature weakened an existing fracture point to failure. Maybe that broke it. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe it was going to break anyway. 🤷‍♀️

If you are not familiar with the recall, this bump will help with that. As to this person, everyone is OK. The car has a busted suspension and rotor damage; it's at the dealer.

There's an existing thread in the 6G forum, but no more details other than presented here.
