I have a question about the GT tune?

Several posts here have asked (complained?) about the GT's throttle response. I've driven two different GTs (auto and stick) and neither one was what I would call sluggish. So-called pedal commanders do change the ratio between pedal and throttle plate, but from a personal point of view, they aren't a cure-all. All this said, the Ford Performance Tunes on my Eco-Boost Mustang and Ranger made a huge difference in overall throttle response; It was my understanding that the FPT for the GT did the same? My question therefore for those who opted for the tune, what change if any did the tune make with respect to throttle response.

So far there is no FP tune for the GT... and word is there won't be?
I don't see Ford releasing a performance tune for the GT. Sitting at 486 Hp, a tune with a 14 Hp increase would match the Dark Horse 500 Hp. Definitely a No No. Won't happen.

They reduce input lag in milliseconds from when you press the accelerator to the servo opening the throttle blades.

So throttle feels “snappier”

I agree 100% with you on that comment but it’s a sale of a Performance upgrade and yeah, it’ll put the GT in the DH Hp range but here’s the caveat …. they could sell the same Calibration Tuning kit (M-9603-M50DH) for the DH that would boost it above the GT’s Hp again and I think that would be smiles and smiles to go!!!

Anyone know if the Calibration Tuning kit (M-9603-M50D) for the GT is out yet?

I think that the only reason the DH has more HP than a GT is that ford neutered the GT at high RPM... take that out and you get DH HP... won't work on the DH, as it is already opened up on the top end.

Yes the only different in tuning between the GT and the DH is that the DH has less tq management than the GT.

Once both tuned, the GT is the same as the DH.

I heard Ford is during something similar for the F150’s being able to get a Raptor tune.

FWIW, the FPT on my MY22 Ranger was noticeable and much more fun to drive in Sport Mode.

DH has different camshafts to rev a little higher. They could of made more power if they upped the redline.

Not true. It might have different cams but we run them to 8k now both GT and DH and any differences in power is all margin of error. There isnt a difference except you paid $20k more for hype.

Has anyone removed both DH and GT cams and ran them through a cam checker to see what the difference is?

Ford released something about "strengthened" camshafts. I do not recall seeing anything about a different grind or camshaft lobe profile.

Crankshaft is balanced "uniquely" (not quite sure that that means), and, of course, forged connecting rods.
