Mach E is an SUV. First time I seen one I had no idea what it was. They could take an edge and stick Mustang badges all over it and there goes your Mustang ICE SUV. Can't call it a sedan.

Woahhh don't move those goal posts buddy. You said to me that low EV sales are terrible for ICE engines. I said no because the CAFE penalties don't exist anymore. So low EV sales are not bad for ICE. Low EV sales are bad for EVs.

But you have to think long term. It takes about 5 years to develop a car, the policy you're referring to will almost certainly be overturned following the Trump administration. Therefore, while I'd love to see Ford say fuck it and shove a V8 in the bronco, they're probably not gonna do that.

I was looking for a Explorer to tow my cow, and later a few jet skis. I was surprised there was no V8 offered. So I figured I could most likely get a F-150 with a 351. Nope. Was available with a 5.0. I was really surprised at such a small engine, but I didn't want a monster truck. So I got it in 4X4. I'll never understand why they insist on calling it a 5.0, it is a 302.

Brands spent billions of dollars on hybrid and EV tech, they aren't gonna throw it out because of what one administration does, especially when those standards are pretty much guaranteed to go back in place once Trump is out of office, these things go back and forth so much that brands quite literally can't change their product plans based

Global car makers - US policy is only one part of it for them.

Ford make EV's or they will die. They sell as many cars outside the US as they do inside the US.

No. Small volume makers contribute virtually nothing to environmental pollution. Some of those low volume car makers are NOT expensive cars. Cars like Caterham and Ariel simply don't have the resources to do EV's and sell a few hundred cars a year.
