"Hands on the Wheel" Alert 🤬

Lane assist: I turn it OFF in the DH because it's a PITA. I have it ON in the F150 because ... well ... BlueCruise 1.4 is awesome.

Although most of the roads i drive on do not have sufficient road markings for it to work.
I've only had mine vibrate once whilst overtaking a cyclist. It doesn't fight though thankfully.

With lane keep off i haven't had any other alerts.

I'm hoping for a software fix. Shouldn't Ford be able to decrease the sensitivity of the alarm trigger?

Driver Alert Monitor starts getting antsy after a while on motorways even with Lane Assist off. Not a problem until you have been going for 1/2 hour or so and especially if changing lane too many times without indicating. Only way to turn off is in the driver assist settings for each journey.

It's frustrating we don't get the driver profiles where you can turn all this junk off based on your key. Even just having the favourites button to 'save' ADAS settings would be a good idea. Other car makers are managing this better - but then others are MUCH worse.

Mine's off, but I still get the warning once in a while. It is sort of a wife who want to make sure you're listening! Now if I could only get it to make me have an.....

If you engage the cruise and loosen your grip on the wheel, you can get a feel for how the car is trying to center itself. If you resist just a bit, the alert doesn’t come up as frequently. The feature on a straight road tends to make a lot of steering inputs I would normally make so you need to kind of consider your steering inputs.

It is meddlesome, and a little crabby, but does work.

I know 100% sure that this is somehwere in Forscan to disable it permanently. There is a German company who knows how to disable it through Forscan, bur they don't want to share their knowledge without paying them.

I've read it on the German Mustang forum.

This company said that they can turn it off through forscan. If they can find it, we should find it as well in the spreadsheet.

would have been better if there was something official. Really annoying. In addition the feature is really strange, sometimes it comes so often and other times very little (highway driving as example for both cases).

I insult the steering wheel often , as my fucking hands are on it... if only it was a sensor looking fo heat changes when your hands are on or not, but I think it checks if the wheel moves often or not, and that sensor is way to sensible in the sense that when the wheel is not moving on the highway it does not mean that your hands are not on the wheel

"Fun" part (not actually fun) is... yesterday I wanted to give it a go again, to check if they might have fixed something with the recent updated. It ended even worse: in the attempt of not having the message telling me to place my hands on the wheel (while they are already there), I had to move the wheel left to right, until another message appeared, telling me to take some rest because my driving behavior was erratic.
I want my S550 back (not really.. just for this function, as it was working correctly there...).

According to the spreadsheet there is a option for Lane Assist. For mine it is set to 8 which means "LA_LKA_EuroNcap". But this will most likely lead to disabling the Lane Assist completly (at least on the Mustang Mach E this happens with similar settings): https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...ument-cluster-display-requires-forscan.39240/

As I never did any "coding" before I will might give it a try, after I understood working with Forscan a bit better. If somebodys already more intermediate, please try it and give feedback here

But what if you disable only the "CHIME" and/or you use another LA, like "LA LDW" or "LA Full..."?

LDW: Lane Departure Warning
LKA: Lane Keep Assist
LKS: Lane Keep System/Support (same as LKA?)


PS: yours is set to "B" you mean... not "8".

Correct, it's B not 8. As I have no experience working with Forscan and I dont wan't to break my car I will not try it for now. Need first to gather some knowledege in general.
