Hi everyone,
I recently imported a Ford F-150 Lightning from the USA to Albania (Europe) and I’m experiencing major connectivity issues after the vehicle changed regions.
It appears that the TCU (Telematics Control Unit) is frozen or locked due to the continent/region change. Currently:
Navigation is not working
The vehicle is not receiving OTA/software updates
FordPass does not connect
All connected services are unavailable
The truck drives perfectly, but anything related to connectivity or online services is non-functional.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue after importing a Ford vehicle from the US to Europe?
I’m trying to understand:
Any guidance, experience, or technical insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I’m trying to understand:
- Is this a region lock issue on the TCU?
- Can the TCU be reconfigured or reflashed for Europe?
- Is a TCU replacement required?
- Can this be solved through Ford IDS/FDRS, or only by Ford corporate support?
Any guidance, experience, or technical insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
