I’m actually one of those people who learned to really appreciate the feature which is the front collision detection.

I had it on my last Camaro and it was really very nice.

I have it set to the max sensitivity and with all the bells and whistles. I’ve tried to trick it on” multiple times and I’m convinced it would have let me crash into something completely.
It has trigger 2x by itself in a manner I would consider appropriate.
Does anyone else notice that the thing would basically let you run over a wall before triggering a warning (the dash shows the little warning icons but I’m talking about where it flashes and beeps red).
Thanks

Isn't it part of our job as conscientious drivers to pay attention to potential or impending collisions (amongst many other things) while driving; and to take timely and effective actions to avoid same? Just sayin.....................

I sort of expected these kinds of responses but in reality, I don’t live in a perfect world so I appreciated the technology.
Yes surely one should never have an accident. And a person should always be paying attention while driving. I think that’s clear.
Of course yet somehow…. Someway…. Accidents do actually happen 🤔.
It is mysterious

I agree. My 2003 S2000 will definitely let me run into things without ever giving a front collision warning, yet somehow I've never done it. Strange...

It will definitely work. One of the activities for Mustang Unleashed is to try to drive into an inflatable car. They have you do it multiple times at about 30mph. Car stops itself every time.

On the road, I have not had my Mustang's alert go off, but it has saved my butt in my F150.

Very few crashes are actually accidents. Check out car crash vids on the 'net, and I have actually seen this in real time. Many drivers, whether at fault or not, will not take action to avoid an accident, or leave it too late. It's as if they freeze at the wheel.
I watched a female driver fail to give way at a roundabout, the driver ahead of me braked, but wasn't going to stop in time. She had stopped dead, He had a ton of room to steer around her but didn't, he carried straight on and it was the slowest collision I've ever seen.
Anti collision would have helped there, but better, or any, driving skills would have been better.

I love roundabouts, but why some drivers cannot figure them out, I do not know. Almost always females.

It does seem overly sensitive but then so too is my wife, so I drive not to trigger it. It pushed the brakes when I (foolishly) tried to turn in front of a driver who ignored the STOP sign thinking this chump in a Mustang wouldn't mind. That was me being stupidly aggressive and it cut power and applied the brakes. It can also be triggered if booting it to overtake and you're not used to how it picks up...

Did you have active cruise on and how many car lengths is your spacing set to? Unless adaptive cruise is on the collision avoidance only responses to things that suddenly appear in front of the car. Yes it will let you gradually drive into a wall if you want to.
