Does this sound like normal ticking?

Car has recently developed this tick noise that is different from the bbq tick on cold starts. It does this inconsistently, and seems to do it more so on cooler days. After the car is warmed up and driven, the tick disappears. When the car is warm started, it also hasn’t done it. My guesses are hpfp, or cam phaser being starved oil during cold start. I’m not super worried because I know they make noises, but wanted some opinions before I schedule with a dealer for possibly no reason. Ignore the belt spinning in the first vid, I am talking about that ping type noise.

That's a rattle and it's not normal. Just got to try to pin it down by ear. If it's nothing directly on top/within hands reach, maybe check the PCV valve? Kind of sounds like one to me.

Totally normal.
Actually incredibly smooth and quiet for a 500HP engine!

go send it to 8k rpm’s for the next 200k miles and enjoy

Sounds like a normal engine? Nothing stands out to me. It does sound like the car is in an enclosed area; this can affect the direction and intensity of what's being heard. Changing locations might clarify the noise of interest.

You may notice the following, now or over time:

- Fuel pump. When the car is off and resting or especially when opening the Driver's door, you might hear some electrical or mechanical pulsing sounds; that's the fuel system priming

- Injector noises. With the hood up and the engine idling, you'll hear these clicking noises on the top side. Almost like a mechanical sewing machine. Or several

- PCV valve. Engine running, facing the vehicle, left side (US), place your ear near the PCV valve. It will sound like an electrical circuit arching or buzzing

- BBQ tick. Engine running, idle, down near the ground and behind either front wheel, you might hear a tick that sounds like a grill igniter. It's a random, lite click

- 2K Rattle. Between 1700 - 2100 RPM, especially cold, you might notice a distinct rattle from the engine while driving. Some think it is piston slap. Most think it is the Direct Injection fuel pump (top side of the engine, back, on top of one of the valve covers

- Exhaust pulses. In car, at idle, in the area of the transmission tunnel, you could hear some thumping sounds at low frequency. My belief is those are exhaust pulses collecting near the back of the engine, entering the pipes

That's quite a bit. All are characteristic sounds of these cars.

Edit,

For any sounds being heard, I'd be concerned if something increased in intensity or changed in characteristic over time. Something becoming more loud. A noise in the same area that doesn't sound like it did before.

I'm not incredibly concerned of things I hear when an engine is cold. My other vehicle clatters like crazy before full-warmed up. But it's been acting that way since the day I bought it new.

Each experience can be different. It's worthwhile to notice, pay attention to and discuss. Modern vehicles, they can be noisy. Fortunately for us, virtually everything we hear are simply characteristics of those power plants.

I’m thinking PCV because it sounds like it is coming from that side around the valve cover area.

In my tuning days there was an instrument that you put in your ears like a stethoscope but with a long probe, maybe a foot long, that was highly directional. I could pinpoint the source of an abnormal sound very quickly. That was a long time ago so I don't know if that tool even exists today. If it does, maybe it would be helpful to you.
