Titanium is one of the more expensive of the common metals but it's not nearly that expensive. The problem with it is the machining. It's hard and they had a lot of trouble with it when they made the SR 71. Ford is making a hefty profit on this probably to keep it exclusive to the Dark Horse. In any case, I am going to watch mine carefully. They where stealing the hood ornament off my 82 GT mustang, They got about 3 of them and they were probably less than $20 each. Those knobs would command much more on the illegal market.

Yea, you could do that , but why? I have the car, that wasn't't what caught my eye when I took delivery, how the Tremec worked was what was on my mind. If it was an 8 ball knob that would have worked for me$400get a aftermarket one on ebay for like $100 and print the decal for it .no one will ever know .
