I just don’t know if it should be that color at such an early stage. One theory I have is…it might be possible someone added Stop Leak for whatever reason. Just a possibility…but you said you saw it change color. Was it ever bright green at any point???

When I had my Prowler my coolant was brownish, and it was confirmed Chrysler added Bars Stop leak at the factory in Prowlers and I think Vipers….for whatever reason.
Some coolant is orange and some is green even when new.

And my Prowler’s coolant was murky brown because Stop Leak was added at the factory. Apparently to make up for the poor tolerances of the engine block.

In fact, more auto manufacturers have added Bar’s Stop Leak at the factory than you think.

Yes I know they make orange coolant. Factories also add Bars Stop Leak which will change the color of coolant.

and yes, The Mustangs should have the yellow coolant.

If the factory is adding an egg to stop a known leak they sold a lemon.

Yeah, its crazy, but it seams to be more common than people realize. Chrysler did it to make up for poor tolerances. I wouldn't want that sludge in a brand new car, but it happens. I'm glad to see nice bright coolant in my car!

Ford quit using the Orange stuff when they changed over to the Gen 3 Coyote.
Was simply trying to indicate the possibility of wrong bottle grabbed while topping off as opposed to purposeful hidden additive.

I suppose its possible, but if they mixed the 2 together then the whole system would need to be flushed. They are not compatible.

@Zig @AZ_Ryan the coolant used to be kinda greenish/yellowish in the very beginning. The it start to take a more brownish color. Few months back I added more coolant to fill up to the top and I got the yellow one as per manual. Back to my little experiment, the coolant in the jar remains the same, no oil or any particle accumulation in the surface. Here is the pic.

GM does it... they recommend a "tablet" type at coolant change.

What’s your total mileage? Have you been a tracking? Worse case you could drain, flush, refill and monitor.
