^ Total BS

Removing carbon traps, changing filter media, even R&R an aftermarket CAI -- none of those are going to amount to jack diddly squat on the same car. Why? Because the current OEM setup is just as efficient as all the aftermarket nonsense companies are selling. Bottom line, unless you're making serious hardware upgrades and/or tuning, you're not going to see any real change.

Snake oil and snake oil salesmen. Including people who most certainly make chit up to get more views/clicks.
That video is far from BS.

You do not know me or my motivations.

I am selling nothing. I do not have sponsors or sponsored content. I do not appreciate being called a snake oil salesmen or you insinuating that I "make chit up" in order to get clicks.

I don't feel right ruining a stock part. Shouldn't be hard sourcing a couple tubes.

So, are you calling Tony out for making the dyno results up?

Or do you think he never actually did dyno testing to start with?

I mean, he’s presenting what he represents as fact. You’re stating your opinion. Not much middle ground here.
In the grand scheme of things 18 Rwhp doesn't make a noticeable difference in performance but does make some people feel faster 🤣

Owning a 2021 that got totaled by a inexperienced driver and replacing it with a 2022 that made slightly less HP made me wonder why and how that came about. No it's not a big number but getting that HP back was easy and free. I know of few people who wouldn't take extra HP for 15 minutes of light work that in no way affects' the performance of the car. It essentially converts the intake to a 2021 set up.

As I stated above I do not know or claim to know the set up on the S650's. The HC Trap was an late addition to the S550 to meet increasing California emission standards. It only collects Hydrocarbons on shut down and does nothing while you are driving. Perhaps the airflow was increased on the S650 to compensate for the additional blockage and removing the HC traps on a 2024 is a waste of time.

I spent a couple of decades road racing at various levels in Porsche 911's and ability means much more than hp at those levels.

I’m late to the party but i wanna clear some things up about carbon trap removal

it was added to the 2022 MY GT and mach 1 for the newer emissions standards it officially dropped hp by 10. But dyno data shows they are nerfed pretty good as there is real gains by removing them on the gen 3 cars 8-10whp and maybe 1-2mph in the 1/4

The problem with the gen 4s is ford went out of there way with the dual throttle bodies to increase surface area to get around the restriction made by them. As a result you’re not going to see hardly any gains because they’ve basically maxed out it out in the efficiency side of things. So i would pull them but it’s not going to give you a magic 20whp

I removed mine and put in a pair of steeda/ s&b filters. Can I tell a difference not really may feel a little smoother no difference in mpg. I mostly did it because I like the reusable filters and it makes a cool noise when throttling in. No other reason really. Was it stupid probably did I waste money probably. Do I care nope see scentence about intake noise.

There are gains to be had from carbon trap removal and running the lids off, but no there's nowhere near 20hp, 5/6 perhaps.

Full weight, 1/2 tank of 93, and on a worn out and dry rotted M&H 275/45-18 DR mounted on a heavy 18x10 S197 wheel. I ran [email protected] in 2400-DA at Darlington.

I bought a pair of Nitto 275/40-18 DR's mounted on the same S197 wheel, That combo adds a 12lb weight penalty over the stock 18x8.5's, and oddly they are 3lbs heavier than those M&H DR's.

I ran at The Rock last night, new THINK air filters, carbon traps removed, the lids off, 1/2 tank of junk E50, full weight with spare tire/jack and another 35lbs of junk in the trunk. I weigh 195.

Upper 80's and DA was 2400 .. I made 4 passes and the car trapped 120+ every pass.

Best was 11.867 @121.4, I launched in D, let it auto shift to 2nd and manually shifted 3rd-6th. I should've left in 5th and ran it to the limiter instead of shifting to 6th. Probably lost a couple hundreds there. I'll try that next time out.

I got lucky the PCM hit the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts @ 7200 instead of short shifting to 3rd @6800 like it usually does ...

That 11.92 pass I tried manually shifting, I caught 1-2 shift@7100, but lightly tagged the limiter on the 2nd 3nd and 4th shifts. I was shocked it ran that.

If we ever get tuning available, these 24's are going to fly shifting them @8k.

I’m not talking about gen 4 did you read my post lol Gen 4 is a wash Gen 3 is worth 8-10whp on the Mach 1 and GT but you’re not going to magically make it an 11 second car

I read your post, You said there was no gains to be had on the Gen-4, or it was a wash.

Track time show gains across the board my Gen4 and I doubt it's ever going to see the rollers.

That's why dyno testing is a waste of money unless you wanna see where the power drops to set shift points.

Next up, Negative DA in a Bottle.

Maybe, maybe not but that isn’t the point and never was.

The point is it’s real, it’s measurable and it’s free. That kind of thing drives an awful lot of forum conversation, most of which isn’t quantifiable like this is.

Guys often spend a lot more than zero for less.

Why? To claim my number is bigger than yours even if I can't outdrive you.
I'm impressed with performance and results not numbers šŸ˜‰

Umm, well, probably because in this particular case it actually was just about the numbers.
